Chapter 14

Shawn's POV

I woke up in the morning with a yawn. I stretched and looked over to the other side of my bed. I furrowed my eyebrows as I noticed that Alexis wasn't there anymore. I heard some noise downstairs and figured that she went downstairs already. Last night was amazing! I don't think I've ever felt this way about anyone. I decided to go downstairs and see what Alexis has gotten into. I threw on a pair of pyjama pants and went downstairs. When I went downstairs, I heard some noise in the kitchen. I walked into the kitchen and couldn't stop laughing from the sight in front of me. Alexis was standing at the island in the kitchen covered in pancake batter and flour. She looked up at me and smiled.

" What happened to you? How did you make such a mess?" I said laughing harder. She looked around and blushed.

" I was trying to make pancakes for you. I wanted to surprise you. I thought it looked easy when you made it." She said while looking down at the ground. I chuckled and went over to her. I gently cupped her chin in my hand and lifted it.

" Don't worry about it. I'm proud of you for trying. Thank you." I said kissing her on the lips. She smiled and melted into the kiss. I pulled away and smiled at her. I don't know how anyone could be so mean to her. She is sweet and beautiful.

" Why don't you go upstairs and take a shower?" I asked her and she nodded. She went upstairs to take a shower and I cleaned up the kitchen a little before making some pancakes. When see came downstairs, she was wearing some jeans and a sweater of mine. She was hugging it slightly causing me to chuckle.

" Is that one of my sweaters?" I asked her and she nodded.

" I like your sweaters better. They smell like you." She said and I chuckled while shaking my head. I put some pancakes on our plates and we ate our pancakes. When we were done, we went into the living room and I turned the tv on. We were watching tv for a little before Alexis spoke up.

" Shawn, can I ask you something?" She asked me.

" Of course. What's up?" I asked her.

" With what happened last night, are we together?" She asked me.

" Do you want to be?" I asked her and she looked at me confused.

" What kind of question is that? Of course I do. You are my mate. There is no one I would rather be with." She said to me and I smiled at her.

" Well then, Alexis will you be my girlfriend." I asked her. Her face lit up with excitement and she nodded fairly quick. I smiled and kissed her. I'm very happy right now. She cuddled into my side and we watched tv again. I noticed Alexis shifting a lot like she was uncomfortable.

" Is everything okay?" I asked her.

" Everything is fine. It's just that tonight is the full moon. I can feel my body wanting to shift." She said to me.

" I thought you could shift when you wanted to?" I asked her confused.

" I can. We don't have to shift on a full moon but the pull to shift is strong. When we don't shift for a while, our bodies start to get uncomfortable." She explained to me.

" When's the last time you shifted?" I asked her. She thought about it for a minute before she answered.

" Almost two weeks." She said to me and I sighed.

" Are you going to shift tonight?" I asked her and she shrugged.

" Go out and enjoy the full moon. Go for a run but please be careful." I said to her and she nodded. We spent the rest of the day inside cuddling and watching movies because it was raining. When it got started to get dark, Alexis got ready to go out.

" Have a good run but be careful. I don't want you to get hurt." I said to her. She kissed me and hugged me tightly.

" I will. I will stay away from humans." She said and I nodded. She went out the back door and took off her clothes. She smiled at me before she shifted and ran off. I hope nothing happens to her tonight.

Alexis's POV

I shifted and then ran off into the woods. It felt great to be in wolf form again. Although the human world is great, it's nice to be a wolf in the woods again. I ran around the woods freely. I stopped and looked up at the moon. I howled at the moon. I stopped and ran again. I stopped at a stream and decided to drink some water. My fur was already soaked from the rain. Suddenly I heard a branch snap behind me and it caused me to turn around and growl. I saw two wolves behind me. I immediately recognized them as Cameron and John from my old pack. What are they doing here? They used to be my friends when we were in the pack. I watched them as they shared a look and turned human. I turned back as well and stared them down.

" What are you doing here? My father would be angry if he knew you were here?" I asked them. Once again they shared a look and then looked back at me.

" Your father knows we're here. He was the one who sent us." Cameron said.

" Why would he send you? I wasn't in his territory. I made sure to stay away from his territory." I said to them. They gave me a guilty look before they started coming towards me slowly. I growled and went to turn but John grabbed me before I could. I tried to pull outing his grip but he had a tight grip.

" Why are you doing this?" I asked them.

" We have no choice. Your father said you are too close to his territory for his liking. He wants us to send you a message." Cameron said to me.

" You don't have to do what he says. We used to be friends. Please don't do this." I begged and he gave me a said look.

" We're sorry." He said before coming towards me with his claws out. I growled and turned into my wolf form. I got out of John's grip and growled at the two. They both turned and came towards me. I'm out numbered and don't really stand a chance but I have to try. I'm pretty strong because I'm the daughter of an alpha but it's hard to take on two strong wolves. John charged at me and I ran at him. He went to bite me but I dodged it and bit his leg. He yelped in pain and I managed to throw him away a little. I suddenly felt something slam into my side, throwing me across the floor. I felt Cameron pounce on me and I pushed him away with my legs. I got up and went to pounce on him when I felt John teeth sink into my back leg. I yelped and went to turn to bite him but Cameron pounced on me. He knocked me over and scratched down my side. I yelped again and tried to push him off. I just managed to push him off and get up but felt a bite on my neck. I growled and John threw me into a tree. I hit the tree hard and it knocked the wind out of me. I turned back and rolled on the floor in pain. I felt too weak to be able to turn back. I looked up and saw a human John and Cameron walk over to me. I was in too much pain to fight back and I knew it was pointless. I might as well get this over and done with.

" I'm sorry." Cameron said before they started punching and kicking me. I felt a scratch here and there. Once they were done, I could barely move or see because everything was blurry. I laid on the floor as I heard them turn and run away. I groaned and tried to make a move to push myself up but cried out from the pain. I need to get home to Shawn. I managed to stand up despite the immense pain. I slowly started walking back to Shawn's house with a limp. The rain was not helping as I started to feel really cold. I saw Shawn's house and I felt relief. I was walking to the back door but I tripped and fell to the floor hard. I yelped as my body hit the floor. I tried to get back up but I had no more energy to push myself up. I slowly pulled myself to the back door and banged on it. I saw Shawn sleeping on the couch. I banged louder to try to wake him up. I was starting to give up as I felt myself starting to get dizzy again. My eyes started to close and I heard a gasp.

" Alexis, what happened?" I heard Shawn say as he bent down towards me.

" My father." I managed to mumble before I passed out.
