I settled into my seat in a random classroom of my choice; Pierce had been right about the lack of authority in this building. I received this with joy; it would be a lot easier to complete my tasks without having deadlines to meet, rules to follow, and authority figures to watch out for, other than the Fae royals and that blonde bitch that had been making out with little bitch.
I opened the read book of fairytales it's pages still empty, like barren strips of white land. I slipped it back to the front, scrutinizing it's sheets for any clue about what to do when the pages started flooding with ink.
S- the letter was writting out in grand, flourishing calligraphy, taking up the top of the first page.
Snow White, had been written in careful lettering across the page, causing me to slam my book fast, to shield the words away from the flow of students walking in to the school.
There was the blonde girl I had seen earlier and her possé, strutting in with full force and taking out a couple students that were unlucky enough to be in thier path.
I ignored them, wondering if their skirts could hike up their legs any more than they already had, keeping my eyes peeled for anyone who could possibly look like they were from the fairytale. Unfortunately, none of the people in the classroom caught my attention.
To my left, a pale boy with dark hair and piercing blue eyes was hunched over , barely visible over the pile of books on his desk, his silver rimmed glasses hiked all the way up his nose. No help there.
Hair as dark as ebony, skin as white as snow, lips blood red: You would have thought it was an easy description to conduct a search off of, but you'd be surprised by how difficult it was to find anyone who matched the image I had created of the princess in my mind.
It was frustrating actually, what if the portal had messed up and the Snow White I had been looking for was in a completely different dimension? Even if I found her, what would I even say to her? Hey Snow, your memory has been erased but you're actually one of the most iconic fairytale characters of all tine? Yup, I've been trusted with a Fae government mission which I was selected for qwithout my consent and I need to transport you into a different dimension, okay? I had never been too good with people anyway.
That sounds too much like Future Felix's problem to me anyways, and it was because I would never be able to even talk to Snow White if I couldn't find her!
Not all princesses had to parade around in crowds all day and attend balls after all, I guess. This is high school after all, so maybe I need to interpret this in the context of a fairytale. Now that I think about it, there could be many human to fairytale paralells drawn in this situation.
Grand balls could actually just be school dances, princes could just be jocks,
carriages could be second-hand pickup trucks, and, I thought excitedly as I sneaked a glance behind me at the group of popular girls at the back of the class- princesses could be cheerleaders.
With this new theory in mind, a heavy weight seemed to be lifted off my chest. It felt good to have a sense of direction again, and my hands were itching to carry out the plan of attack I had developed at the back of my head.
Mean Girls, Scream Queens- I traveled back to those long Netflix marathons back home. To be popular in such a clichéd high school setting you needed more than good looks- you needed to posess a superficial personality, comform to gender roles, have good money (or good clothes and a car), and a socially- acceptable boyfriend.
