From October 5th to November 1st 2015, an unexplained phenomena repeatedly occurred in the small town of Langley, Virginia. Dubbed "The Lights of Langley" by local news outlets, the event sparked a short lived interest on the town and its residents. The event has been issued into the hall of famous urban legends as a result.

During the night, residents reported a strange glow coming from within the dense woods that are at the edge of town. The brightness of the glow was compared to the hue of a fire, and it illuminated the edge of the forest red.

When approaching the edge, the residents reported that it felt "like the sun was on the ground" and experienced severe heat, with the smell of brimstone emitting in the wind.

Many went mad, killing their families or themselves in violent manners, and others experienced nightmares, reporting seeing "bright, high fires of hell itself" and "winged black ones, with multiple eyes of fire, dancing around a burning tree stump".

The local wildlife was disturbed to the point that at sunset, all the animals within the forest would flee in large groups. They never returned during the day. Dogs refused to enter the woods, barking loudly at night at something that was apparently roaming the woods.

On November 1st 2015, the occurrence stopped. Local interest in the phenomena decreased and everyone moved on. Since then, there have never been reports of reoccurrences of the event.

However, many overlook the few reports from those who lived closer to the woods about the light growing brighter and brighter on the night of October 31st, and they also overlook the following reports about the faint echo of a chant coming from the center of the woods, a chant that broke down into deep, demonic screams at the stroke of midnight.
