A school bus goes missing. Attempts to contact the driver by radio only result in static. Hall County Police are dispatched and search for the vehicle, covering a five thousand mile radius and blocking several highways. Nothing is found that morning.

However, an anonymous resident from the nearby town of Lula, Georgia calls into a local police station later that night. He reportedly heard a loud metallic sound echoing from outside his house.

When officers arrive on the scene, they discover a crater in the middle of a field. The crater is fifteen feet deep and is surrounded by pieces of shattered glass. A large ball of crumpled metal lies at the bottom, leaking a black liquid and covered in numerous gashes. These gashes resemble claw marks. Further analysis identifies the dark liquid as motor oil.

However, officers have already identified the metal ball.
