(Chapter 24)
*Harry's P.O.V*
I could feel all the blood drain from my face as I took in Josh's words.
No. No this can't be true. But why would he lie to me? Oh god this is true?
"H-How...I...who?" I could barely put a sentence together this was way too much to take in.
First my old best mate appears out of nowhere and now this!?
"Look Harry i'm so sorry-" Josh started, but I interrupted him.
"Who did it?" I whispered with no emotion.
I was biting down on my tongue so hard I knew it would draw blood, but I didn't care. I really didn't want Josh to see me cry.
I looked up at Josh after a moment of silence to see a worried expression on his face. I watched as more tears streamed down his face before he responded.
"I'm sorry Harry, I-I don't know. I don't know who did it. All I know is that it's one of Victor's workers" Josh managed to choke out before wiping his tears.
I was still doing a good job of holding mine in, but I knew I would crack any minute. If he would have told me this two years ago I probably would have broke down right there and then. But things are different now. I've moved on, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt.
"It's okay. I-It's not your fault..." I mumbled, before looking down.
"I'm really sorry Harry. If you ever need any-" Josh began.
"You know what, I think it's for the best if we just continue to stay away from each other." I quickly interrupted him before he could continue.
I could see his facial expression drop a little at my words, if anything he actually looked hurt. I don't know why he would be though, we haven't seen each other in years. So why is he making an effort to come back into my life now. I didn't see him trying this hard the day my father actually did die.
"Oh, um sure. Why do you think that would be best?" Josh mumbled under his breath obviously embarrassed to be asking.
"It just seems like ever since you know the incident, every time were together nothing good comes out of it." I shrug. I didn't see what the big deal was if we continue ignoring each other nothing changes we just go back to our everyday lives.
"Oh," Was all Josh said before looking down at his toes. "Harry what are you going to do, since you know now." Josh asked cautiously like he really wanted to know my answer.
To be honest I didn't know what I was going to do myself. Though, I did know one thing for sure, Victor wasn't gonna get away with this. I don't care if it happened a year ago, I wouldn't care if it happen twenty years ago. He's still going to pay the price...
"I don't know yet." I whispered my voice a little hollow and shaky. I could feel my anger towards Victor building up again like it had just been lit again. It took me awhile to burn out the fire of hatred I had towards him, and here I am lighting it up again.
"Harry please, I know it's been awhile, but I know how you are. Please don't do something you're going to regret. It's not wor-"
"Don't you fucking say it's not worth it!" I snapped at Josh. " You're telling me my own father was murdered and it's not worth it to figure out who the killer is!?" I shouted again before pushing Josh.
Oh shit. Why did I have to touch him?
"Hey don't get mad at me! If it wasn't for me you wouldn't even know!" Josh shot back before pushing me. Oh god Harry control yourself...
