(Chapter 16)
*Caroline's P.O.V*
"I'm moving to America," Liam said just above a whisper.
I could feel all the happiness drain from my face. What? America? What does Liam have in America? Well besides Danielle...
What am I saying, I should be happy for him. I mean this does mean no more strict Liam to boss me around. I knew Liam was going to go off the college soon, I just didn't think it would be so far away.
"Wow Liam, th-that's great!" I said in a high pitched tone. I still didn't know if I should feel upset, or happy. However, for Danielle's sake I decided to go for happy.
"Really, I mean if you don't want me to go you can say the words. Remember I will always be here for you." Liam said, his eyes a little pleading. I quickly glanced over at Danielle, she looked a little hurt by Liam's words. But she played it off with a smile. Gosh, does Liam want to lose her again?
"No I'm happy for you Liam. You love Danielle and you guys should be together." I say with a fake smile, trying to look as happy as I could.
Liam just gave me a small smile, but it didn't touch his eyes. I couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him, he was stuck on a pretty hard decision. Either stay here like he was planning on, and go to college. Which mean't leaving the one he loves behind. Or move to America, with the one he loves. Which mean't leaving everything he has ever known behind. To be honest, If I was in the same situation, I don't know what I would pick.
"Well I am exhausted, so I gue-" I was cut off by my phone ringing. I looked over a Liam who was now giving me an annoyed look. I smiled innocently before taking the phone out of my pocket. I looked down at the caller ID and was surprised when it said 'Harry'. I thought he was going to be busy all night. "I got to take this," I simply say before walking into the kitchen. I made sure the door was closed before pressing the answer button. "Harry?"
"Is this a Cara?" The man on the other line questioned. It was really hard to hear his voice with all the noise in the background. It sounded like police sirens and ambulances. Even though I couldn't hear his voice well enough, I knew for a fact I wasn't speaking with Harry.
"Yeah my name is Cara." I said into the phone, pacing around the room as I started to lose connection.
"Do you by chance happen to know a Harold Styles?" The man's voice cracked on the other line. I had to bite back a laugh at the name the man used for Harry. He never told me his full name was Harold. I also started to notice that the voice on the other line began to sound very familiar.
"Yes I know him, is everything alright?" I could feel my adrenalin kicking in. Police sirens and Harry, this cannot be good.
"No, well yes, Harry was assaulted around one o'clock to two o'clock his morning, by people that are still unnamed. And before we could put him in the ambulance he begged me to call some girl named Cara. I'm sorry I am a friend of his, my name is Paul."
I could feel all the blood drain from my face as I froze in place. I knew I recognised that voice it was Paul's, but that wasn't important. Harry being assaulted? Now I know there are probably not that many people out there that actually like Harry. But I never thought he could actually be assaulted. And if he was he would defiantly not be the one on their way to the hospital. Something is not right here. I could hear the multiple hello's, and are you there, spilling out of the phone's speaker. I think Paul said it about seven times, until I finally answered him.
