Dan

I wake up to the stinging sensation in my arms. The memories from last night are fresh in my mind...
I grab the razor from my shower and hold it shakily up to my arm. I squeeze out a few more tears before I press the razor hard into my skin leaving a deep red cut dripping with blood. I squeal at the pain and watch, more tears slipping out my eyes, as red droplets slide down my arm. I repeat this six times on each of my arms and then move to my stomach and thighs.
By the time I have finished cutting I have deep wounds in my arms, legs and stomach, and it's really late at night.
I turn the sink on and run the cool water over my cuts. Tears start reforming around my eyelids as it my arm feels like it's on fire.
When most of the blood is washed away I wipe my body down with a soft towel walking back to my bed.
My room is a mess. The white walls are covered in posters saying the words "Happy" and "Life is great". I think they are a complete waste of wall space but my friends don't. My bed is not made and the white bed sheets are strewn across the cream carpeted floor. My Mac book is on the brown desk in the corner. The time is glowing on it's screen. It reads 2:37 a.m.
I huff and turn off my bathroom light, wincing as pain shoots up my arm.
I stumble to the desk and slam my laptop shut.
The next thing I know I'm lying on my bed falling asleep.

I decide it's time to get ready for school so I drag myself out of bed and go over to my white dresser.
I pull out a pair of black boxers, a black t-shirt, black jeans and black socks.
I move my way to the bathroom and look at myself in the mirror. I have a tint of dark circles under my eyes from lack of sleep and my skin is even paler than normal. Even my eyes that were once alive and bright are dull.
I look down at my body and wince. The cuts have already started scabbing over and there are multiple red lines running across my arms, legs and chest.
I sigh and pull on my boxers being careful so they don't hurt my wounded flesh.
I carry on getting dressed until I here a buzzing noise. I jump at the loud sound.
I start to relax when I realise that it's only my phone.
I finish putting my socks on and head back into my room. I grab my phone and get a hoodie that is draped across the back of a chair. Because of the cuts on my arms I now have to wear long-sleeved items of clothing so no one can see, even though it's still hot from the summer holidays.
I walk into the hallway and pass the small kitchen. I grab my wallet and car keys and rush out the door before I regret going to school.
I take the elevator down to the underground parking area that the apartments sit on and navigate my way around the vehicles to find my car. For my seventeenth birthday my parents got me a porsche carrera 4S. I have always known that my parents were really rich but I didn't expect a porsche as my first car!
I get into the driver's seat and turn on the ignition. I drive to Starbucks on my way to school and get a muffin and a coffee. As I eat and drink in the car I try not to spill crumbs.
As I pull up to West Charlotte High school I ignore the glances that I get as I drive in a porsche. I find a suitable parking space and sigh. This is going to be a long year.
