For the rest of the night, Leia cried. When no one could see her weak, when no one could hear her sounds of despair, when she could cry and not getting noticed, she climbed up on the hut's roof and watched the stars above her head. "Han please," she whispered to the air, hoping he'll come back to her. Now, when they can be a family. From time to time, she wiped away the tears that came down her cheeks at the flashbacks of her own childhood. This baby will be a blessing, a distraction from her own thoughts about her adoptive parents. She was still kind of mad at them because they didn't tell her the truth. Were they afraid she'd confront Vader? Were they ashamed of rising a daughter of a serial killer and merciless Sith? Leia sighed and for the first time she learned she's pregnant she touched her belly. Slowly caressing it, she was telling the baby how much she'll love him or her, how they will make a great family, together with Han. "Oh, Leia, you're getting so emotional," she told herself and smiled at her sudden change of emotions. The sun was starting to rise, bringing a ray of hope together with it. Carefully climbing down from the roof she met a few Ewoks so she nicely greeted them and followed them to the dining place. She didn't eat dinner yesterday so rich breakfast was very satisfying thing. The bread with a fruit marmelade was delicious, she never had a jam that was like this. Ewoks were really good when it came to preparing food.
"Morning," Leia said as she saw Luke coming in. He smiled, surprsed by seeing his padawan up so early. She usually slept longer and he had to wake her up, sometimes using tickling as a way to wake her up. When it didn't work, he had to choose the another option...the cold water from the Endor's lake, colder than anything he ever touched before.
"Morning," Luke replied and sat beside Leia, watching her eat one bread after another. How could a tiny person like her eat so much food?
"What?" she asked, a few breadcrumbs spitting from her mouth.
"Nothing. Are you ready for today's lesson? If you success...I have amazing news for you," Luke said and smiled, taking one bread from the table before Leia could take it. She gave him a long gaze and Luke chuckled. He never grew up with a sibling and now when all the seriousness, well most of it was gone, he could be a child again. He thought he grew up really fast, so a few brother-sister moments were rare and meant a lot for him.
"What are we going to do?" Leia asked and took a cup of hot tea to warm her up a little bit. Luke swallowed the piece of bread that was in his mouth and replied to his sister: "Deflecting blaster shots with a lightsaber."
'Alright, that's good,' Leia thought and smiled, thinking whether the baby will like marmelade as much as she does.
"I'll go prepare myself, master," she said and walked away to changr to her training robe, consisting of white and comfortable pants, t-shirt made of soft materials and a robe over it. Luke told her that robes are typical for Jedi. As she had the fabric in her hands, she thought of how she's changed. From Princess to a Jedi Padawan. From a normal girl to a warrior. And mother to be.
