CHAPTER 23

~Dannielles' POV~

It has been a week and a half since Canadas' Day so that makes today July 11th. Cam and I have gone on three dates since our first one. Right now, I was in my room, reading a new R.L Stine book.

"Dann" I heard my mom call out for me

"Yeah?" I yelled

"Go check the mail please" Mom yelled back

I put my bookmark in my book so I don't loose my page and got out of bed. I walked downstairs, grabbed my keys and put flip flops on

"Thank you" I heard her say, as I walked out the door

I walked to our mailbox which was about 5 minutes away from my house. I arrived at the mailbox and unlocked it with a key. Papers for my mom, coupons, catalogs and a big envelope. I grabbed the envelope, my hands shaking. I didn't even have to look to see who it was from because I already knew. It was from UCLA. I quickly grabbed my phone out of my back pocket and called Gab.

"It's here" I told her, before she could say anything

"Heh? What are you talking about?" She questioned

"Gabrielle it's here" I repeated

Gab seemed to get what I was saying, because I could hear her running around, a door opening and closing and her running to her mailbox. I heard her shuffling papers.

"I got it" Gab said "Are your hands shaking because mine are like crazy" She added

"Mine are too?" I told her "Wanna meet halfway?" I asked her

"Yep" She answered

I hung up and started running towards Gabs' house. She lived about 25 minutes from my house. Halfway between Gabs' and my house we met up. She had a small white envelope in her hands

"Why is your envelope big?" Gab asked me at the same time I asked her "Why is your envelope small?"

"I probably didn't get in" Gab shook her head

"Hey, don't say that! We will open our envelopes and see that we both got accepted" I told her "Remember our pack?" I questioned her

She nodded her head

"If one of us doesn't get into UCLA then the other is not going" Gab said the pack that we made

"Exactly! Now let's open these envelopes" I smiled

We both grabbed our envelopes and started opening our letters. This is it, the moment of truth.

"Read yours first, I'm too scared" Gab told her

I unfolded the paper, my hands were shaking like crazy

"We are glad to inform you, Ms.Dannielle, that you have been accepted in the University of California, Los Angeles. Congratulations!" I read out loud

Then I started freaking out

"I made it in! I got accepted! Gab I made it in" I yelled, jumping up and down

"I know I heard!" Gab laughed "My turn" She looked at me and I saw worry in her eyes

"Gab, read it now" I told her

Gab unfolded her letter and took a deep breath

"We are sorry to inform you that..." Gab started reading

"What?! Gab, no! They must have made a mistake" I cut her off

"You didn't let me finish" She said "We are sorry to inform you that you will be attending about 4 more years of school because you got accepted in UC freaking LA with your bestfriend" She finished
