The rest of the year passes without incident. Emmeline is suspended from the school, plus given Saturday detentions for the rest of the year. (This is a topic of much amusement to Lily and her friends.) The nightmares still haunt their dreams, the image of Peter's body still lodged firmly within their minds. James still blames himself, but all of them are so caught up with exam stress and the approach of seventh year that they aren't really given time to think about it. When the term finally ends, no one is disappointed to see the back of the school year.
James calls out over the chaotic shouts of excited students. "Lily!" He yells. "Sirius! Remus! Quick, or we won't find an empty carriage!" Lily pushes past the crowd, towards her boyfriend.
"I have other friends too, Potter," she laughs. James raises his eyebrows jokingly.
"Potter, am I?" He questions, causing Lily to laugh even more.
"Alright you flirts, move your asses onto that train," says Sirius with an eye roll, hauling his trunk off the platform. They find an empty carriage and slump onto the seats, each breathing a heavy sigh of relief. James rests his back against the window, turning his head to watch as Hogsmeade station shrinks away.
"So, nearly seventh year," says Lily, bringing her head to rest on his chest. James tangles his fingers in her hair, and she closes her eyes, the smallest of smiles creeping onto her face.
"Yeah," he replies with a sigh. "Nearly. Hey, um, Lily?"
Lily opens one eye. "Yes?" She mumbles sleepily.
"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to come to mine for the last couple of weeks of the holidays. You know, only if you want to. If you're not going away or anything. Sirius and Remus will be there, and you can invite Mar-"
She silences his rambling with a quick kiss. "Of course James. I'd love to."
The rest of the train ride is spent with the four of them laughing, joking around, eating way to many sweets from the trolley, and marvelling at all the fun and mischief that always accompanies holiday trips to the Potter's.

Hey guys, sorry for the late update, I completely forgot yesterday!
This one is only short, but it is the final one (apart from the epilogue)! This may be the end of this story, but I have a plot for the second book already so watch out for that! I'm very excited to start writing.
