Narumi and Astrid skipped all the way to Route 2, where they were met with big grassy patches sprawled across the dirt road that led to an opening leading to a forest.
Astrid's eyes lit up. "I'm gonna catch something!" Before Narumi had a chance to say anything, Astrid was already running through the grass. Narumi sighed and started to tiptoe through the grass. She wanted to wait until she got to the forest.
In the midst of her sneaking, Narumi heard a squeal coming from the patch closest to the forest. She looked up, and saw Astrid in a heated battle with Zigzagoon.
Narumi continued sneaking until she reached the end of the path. Astrid threw a Pokeball at Zigzagoon and caught it easily. She hopped up and down in celebration, which scared away the wild Pokemon.
Narumi waved Astrid towards the forest entrance, and she nodded. "I caught my first Pokemon!! I'll name her...Zig!" Narumi nodded. "Good name. Now, we have a forest to explore!" Astrid returned both of her Pokemon and ran into the forest with Narumi.
Astrid spotted an "old friend of hers" and she ran off to talk to him. Narumi decided to look for a brand new Pokemon to catch. Narumi had one in mind: Scatterbug. Narumi sifted through the grass, battling against any other Pokemon she encountered with Fuji.
After five or six encounters, Narumi found what she was looking for. She sent out her lowest level Pokemon, Firefox. The Scatterbug looked ready to battle.
"Firefox! Use Tackle on that Scatterbug!" Narumi commanded.
Firefox barked, and tackled the Scatterbug. It let out a cry and cowered behind a piece of grass.
"Perfect!" Narumi snuck towards it from behind and threw the Pokeball. It wobbled once, twice, and then once more. It then rained a small shower of sparks on the Pokeball, and it clicked shut. Narumi cheered and scooped up the Pokeball.
Astrid had finished catching up with her friend and walked back over. "I see you caught something!" Narumi nodded and opened the Pokeball that contained Scatterbug. "Awww!" Astrid picked up Scatterbug, much to its dismay. "What's her name?" Scatterbug struggled in Astrid's grip, so she set her down. Scatterbug sighed in relief.
Narumi shrugged. "Why don't you name her?" Astrid's hazel eyes twinkled. "Yay! I'll name her...Vivi! Kind of like, short for Vivillon, ya know?" Narumi returned Scatterbug. "I like it! Now, let's go, unless you want to catch something?" Just as Astrid was about to respond, Narumi got a call.
(Bold is Narumi, Italics is Aarune)
Hello?
Hi, MiMi! It's your dad...Flygon is with you, right?
Yes, why?
Well, Flygon knows Fly, and we need you at the Baa de Mer Ranch right away!
That place where Mom works? But why?
One of the Skiddo is missing in the grass around the ranch, I think Route 12, and we need help finding it!
Uh...can my friend Astrid help too?
Sure! We could use all the help we can get! I'll see you there, MiMi!
Bye Dad! *click*
"Sorry, we have to take a quick detour," Narumi said. "We need to go to Route 12....Hop on." Narumi sent out Bug, and she climbed on. Astrid climbed on, too. "Bug, use Fly! Go to Baa de Mer Ranch!" Bug zoomed up into the air alarmingly fast and flew straight to the Ranch, and made a big enterance, as usual.
"Thanks, buddy." Narumi called back Bug and rushed over to her mother and father, who were waiting to greet her. "Hi, MiMi, I won't waste any time explaining, let's just look for that Skiddo! He should be in the tall grass over there." Rose gestured to the rows of tall grass.
"C'mon, Astrid, let's start looking!" Narumi dragged Astrid towards the biggest patch of grass to start looking. Astrid sifted through one half of the grass, while Narumi sifted through the other. The two of them found countless Miltank, Pachirisu, Tauros, and Chatot. Eventually, Narumi even found a horde of some blue fluffy creatures. Narumi looked at the five of them. There was no possible way she could catch one without missing, so she picked off every one except the one on the far left.
Since all of her Pokemon were much too weak to fight the lone Pokemon, Narumi just threw a Great Ball she had at it, and, luckily, she caught it. Narumi immediatley released the creature and scanned it.
Mareep: The Wool Pokemon
Its fluffy wool rubs together and builds a static charge. The more energy is charged, the more brightly the lightbulb at the tip of its tail glows.
Mareep evolves into Flaaffy at level 15 and into Ampharos at level 30.
This Mareep Knows: Tackle, Tail Whip, Thunder Wave, and Thunder Shock.
"Huh." Narumi called back the Mareep. Then, Narumi continued to stomp through the grass until Astrid started shouting. "I found it! I found the Skiddo!" Narumi, Aarune, and Rose rushed over."You found him! Thanks, you two!" Both girls smiled proudly. Aarune seemed to think for a minute, until he pulled something out of his pocket. "As thanks, I'll give you guys 1000 P each!"
"Thanks, Dad! Hey, guys, you should see all the new Pokemon I have! Everyone, out!" Narumi tossed all five Pokeballs in the air. "You guys, too!" Astrid did the same. Acorn and Firefox went off to play with each other before Aarune and Rose even got a chance to look at them, but everyone else stood still.
Eventually, everybody got restless and began to play. Bug, Zig, Vivi, and Mareep played a game of what Narumi thought was tag, but Fuji was stuck to her side like glue. She didn't mind, of course. Astrid played tag with the Pokemon, while Narumi went to explore the ranch. She looked out onto the big grassy field, with Fuji by her side, until she saw a glint in the midst of it all. Narumi ran towards it, Fuji close behind. It was a Sun Stone, laying in the middle of the grass. Narumi took it and put it in her pocket. (A/N: FORESHADOWIIIIING) Narumi and Fuji, after seeing everything there was to see, went to play tag.
After about 10 minutes of running, Narumi found that the Sun Stone wasn't in her pocket. "Hey, Fuji, you know that Sun Stone? Can you go find it? It's somewhere in the field." Fuji nodded and trotted away in search of the stone. Narumi patiently waited for a few minutes until Fuji brought it back, balancing it on his head. "Thank yo-" Narumi began, until she remembered the Pokedex entry.
"...Radiation from certain stones makes this Pokemon evolve."
"Nooo!" But it was too late. Fuji began glowing bright blue, a blinding light washing over the entire field, interrupting the game of tag and getting startled looks from the Skiddo eating some grass. After what seemed like an eternity, the light disappeared as soon as it came, revealing Fuji's new form, which Narumi quickly scanned.
Esepon: The Sun Pokemon
An Espeon is extremely loyal to any trainer it considers to be worthy. It is said to have developed precognitive powers to protect its trainer from harm.
Espeon is one of the final forms of Eevee.
This Espeon Knows: Psybeam, Swift, Baby Doll Eyes, and Tackle.
Aarune was the first to speak. "Well, that was...unexpected." Rose shot a glare at him that could shut up the Hulk. Aarune was silent.
Narumi stood silent for a second, until she broke the silence with a happy squeal. "YOU EVOLVED!"
(A/N: Yes, yes, I KNOW Espeon evolves by friendship, but I thought it would be confused with Pokemon-Amie stuff *Fuji DOES know Baby Doll Eyes, after all.*. But, I still hope you enjoyed the chapter! I'm enjoying writing it! Vote, comment, and share! Byeee!)
(P.s, I TOTALLY forgot poor Vivi! Updating now...)
