Adalyn above
Elizabeth's POV
I woke up to my alarm at 6:00 am on the dot. Just as every morning, I quickly turned off my alarm clock. Sitting up tangled in my pink bed sheets, I looked around my room. It was the only clean room in the house, the rest littered with bottles of various alcohol and trash.
Pushing the sheets to the end of my twin sized bed, my father never bought me a new one after that fateful day, I looked around my room.
Like every morning, I study the half-painted teal walls, since I only had enough money to paint half the walls, the other half remaining a pale pink. A small bookshelf in the corner of my room housed my book collection with my backpack resting next to it.
That being pretty much it to the room, I slowly got up, walking over to the small closet filled with clothes my best friend had given me, since we were the same size, if not my being smaller by just a bit due to malnutrition.
Pulling out a pair of dark wash skinny jeans with a long sleeved white shirt and a galaxy infinite scarf, matching that with a pair of worn Galaxy vans.
Walking into my bathroom, I quickly stripped out of my pajamas, turning the water on lukewarm so the cuts and bruises covering virtually every inch of my body weren't irritated.
Washing the necessary areas, I stepped out of the shower afterwards. Drying my body and wrapping my hair in a towel, I quickly got dressed in the outfit I had picked for the day, checking to make sure no bruises or anything were showing.
Seeing I only had twenty minutes before I needed to be at school, I rushed downstairs, making a quick breakfast, plating it and leaving it on the table with a few aspirins and water for my father.
Running back up to my room and grabbing the IPhone 7 my Best friend, Adalyn, parents had insisted on getting me along with my school backpack and whatnot, I ran back downstairs, ready to leave for the first day of school in my last year of high school.
As I walked down the street, I could see a familiar electric blue Dodge Charger coming down the street, coming to a stop beside me.
"Get in, E! We don't want to be late for the first day of hell!" She called through the window, motioning me inside.
Quickly getting into the sleek sports car, I buckled up before she raced off down the street, attempting to not be late for school.
"You know, E, your birthday is next week. My parents wanted your birthday wish list for the year." Adalyn says slowly.
"Adi, you know I can't accept that stuff. You guys may have all the money in the world, but you already do so much for me. It'd be rude to ask for more." I say in a pleading voice, hoping to convince her.
Or not.
"Well, if you won't give us a wish list, it's a damn good thing I know everything about you to the T." Adalyn says, unaffected. "Speaking of knowing you, have you had breakfast? Actually, stupid question. James doesn't give you food. Let's go to breakfast." She continued, pulling into Sonic.
Before I could protest, Adi ordered two giant cheeseburgers, despite it being breakfast, along with a brownie and cookie dough malt and a peanut butter and caramel malt, both in the largest size.
After they handed us the food, Adi gave me the brownie and cookie dough malt along with one of the burgers, no pickles, and continued on to school.
When we pulled in, she parked her car in a spot close to the school, right in front of 'The Popular Group' of our school.
Nervously, I stepped out of the car, following Adalyn as she made her way into the school.
