One Month Later

Draya POV

I never went to Naomi's. I didn't trust her anymore. I'm still living in a women's center, a different one, but it's basically the same thing. I try not to be in there though. Some nights I sleep in my car because the women in there are extremely loud and I hate loud noises.

I only have $500 left in my bank account, which is all going to food and gas for my car; mostly food. Thanks to me being 22, I'm still on my parents insurance so all of my doctor's visits are free. And washing my laundry at the center is also free. Thankfully, I came out of college without any loans. I'm honestly pretty blessed right now.

I know being blessed for some is having a roof over their heads, well I have enough money to feed my son and I.

It's currently mid-May and I'm due Mid-July. I'm excited for my Prince to be here. I just want to be somewhere safe for us.

"Wait no!!!" I hollered as I noticed my car on fire. ALL of my clothes were in there. I ran out of Wendy's and tried to save some of my things.

"Miss! Miss! Stop. You're pregnant." I felt this white man pulling me away from the fire.

"It's always something!" I cried. "Why me?" I fell to my knees, talking to the sky.

"Why me?" I curled up crying.

"Sweetie come up." I heard this elderly lady. Ignoring all pleas, I stayed in my spot crying. What the hell was I going to do?

"I got you!!" I smiled looking at the kids on the playground. It's been about 2 weeks since my car caught on fire. I come here everyday and sit on this same bench, watching the innocent kids laugh and play around with one another.

Since I had no insurance on that car, dumb I know, the people only gave me $100. I just used that money to buy deodorant, body wipes, toothpaste and toothbrush, undergarments, 2 pairs of jeans, and about 20 tank tops. That day, I had my travel bag which had my wallet, a comb, a brush, and my phone and it's charger inside, so that's where I held my clothing.

"Hi." A little girl waved at me. I see her here almost everytime I come.

"You're always here." I giggled.

"So are you." I spoke.

"I know! It's really fun here. How come you have a blanket it's always hot?" She asked me. I looked at the blanket this woman forced me to have. I remember how she was practically begging me to come home with her one night she found me sleeping on this bench. I just couldn't bring myself. Once she saw I wasn't going to budge, she threw this blanket over me and walked away before I could speak.

"Just in case I want to have a picnic." I shrugged and she smiled.

"When you have one, can I come." I smiled.

"Sure."

"Gabrielle, what I told you about talking to strangers?" She turned around quickly. I looked up to see this very handsome man approaching us.

"But Uncle O, she looked lonely. I wanted to be her friend." She said sweetly. I shyly pushed my wild hair behind ear.

"Still Gab, you have to make sure it's okay with me ight? Ya pops ain't gonna let me take you to the park anymore." He spoke, never once looking at me. Which I was glad he didn't.

"Okay." They began to walk away. "Uncle O, I think she sleeps here." I heard and my eyes widen.

*

I woke up on the bench yet again. I checked my phone to see it was 12 am. I didn't want to be here, so I decided to walk to the women's center which wasn't too far from here.
