He died.
This will have to change our plans, won't it?
Yes. Yes it will.

Amber was whimpering.
The air was still filled with smoke.
Petra and Amber had gone left, onto a plain, but now Amber had a nasty burn on her leg.
"Come on,we gotta wash that."Petra scanned their surroundings, trying to find a pond.
"Noooooo!"
"Why not?"
"It'll hurt!"
Petra rolled her eyes.
"It'll hurt more when it doesn't get better."She told Amber.
Amber folded her arms over her chest.
"We don't have time for your shenanigans."Petra snapped. "We wash it or we don't wash it."
"Don't wash it. It can heal on it's own."
"Fine, then. We gotta make sure the others are okay."
"We need to wait until that fire burns itself out. It's too dangerous otherwise. Besides, they can make it."
"You actually want to go back, Amber, I know that much."
"Oh really?"
"I know you have a crush on Olivia."
Amber opened her mouth, but no words came out. Her face turned as pink as the burn on her leg. Petra snickered, Amber's expression was priceless.
But maybe Amber was right about the fire thing.
Jesse and the others were strong.
"Well, it will take a while for that fire to die. I guess I'd better make a shelter for us."Petra looked at all of the smoke.
"Just for you to make the shelter?"
"You can't do much with that leg of yours. Plus, I have something you don't."
"What's that?"
"Height advantage, Small Fry."
Amber rolled her eyes at the nickname. Petra had used Amber's height as an excuse for her not to do things.
"She can't come and pick apples with us, she's too small."
"She can't climb the mountain, she's too small."
"You can't do that, you're too small."
"I might as well go look for food, then."Amber decided.
"With that leg?"
"Animals are stupid."
Petra felt like snarling at Amber. Not Reuben. Never Reuben. But Amber had only heard their story from passerby travellers who were talking about it, and knew their appearance from banners put on trees.
"You go do that then. I'll make a dirt shack right here." Petra gestured to the ground beneath them.
Amber unsheathed her almost broken stone sword and limped off.
Petra got to work on the dirt shack, worrying about the others. They would be fine, right?
What about Lukas? How was he now? The Ocelots were supposed to look after him.
Yeah, he would be fine. He was Lukas.
Petra finished up on the shack. Hopefully the fire would die soon.
Now she needed to-
"Peeeeeeettttttrrrrrraaaaa!"
Petra sighed. Amber was probably in trouble. That or she fell into a hole.
This was not the case.
Amber was as pale as snow, and looked like she wanted to throw up.
"What's wrong?"Petra asked.
Amber pointed to a nearby hole that signalled the start of the cave.
"You have to look in there. I swear, I don't know what happened. But I think I'm going to be sick."
Petra demanded more information, but Amber just shook her head and closed her eyes.
Petra crept towards the hole and looked inside.
There, on the stone floor, was a body. It seemed to have vomited green slime before it died, and it had arched it's back into a C.
It was familiar. He was familiar.
"Excuse me while I go somewhere to go vomit!"Amber squeaked, and Petra could hear her limping away.
That body.
It was Lukas.
