"You see those buildings?" Petra gestured to some houses up ahead.

"Underleaf. Yeah." Amber muttered.

"They have a place for injured people. You could go there." Petra suggested.

"Is it really that bad?"

"Yes it is, Wolfy."

-----------------------

Jesse couldn't sleep.

She could only think of the people she'd lost.

Ellegaard. Reuben. Sammy. Lukas. Possibly Petra and Amber.

She could hardly bear it.

The sound of rain used to be soothing, but now Jesse was paranoid that something bad could happen.

Lukas liked me...

Well, I could never like him back. That's what happens when a girl likes other girls.

Jesse noticed that Olivia had fallen asleep close to Axel.

Axel wasn't coughing in his sleep. That was good. Olivia said he would get better. That was also good.

Jesse shivered.

-----------

Underleaf was a big village. Amber could see that much.

Someone took Petra to the inn. She wouldn't have to pay.

Amber, on the other hand, was being escorted to the hospital by a dude name Derek.

He didn't seem to mind being in the rain. His skin was dark, like Olivia's, yet he had blonde hair that reminded Amber too much of Lukas and Kloe. His eyes were a bright blue that seemed unnatural on him. He wore blue overalls and a brown shirt underneath.

"Nasty burn you've got there." Derek commented.

"Fire does that." Amber said.

"It'll be fine." His voice was soft and sympathetic.

They came to a tall, wooden building. Derek opened the door for Amber and she limped inside, glad to be free from the rain.

"We have heaps of spare beds. This place was built higher than it needed to be." Derek chuckled.

"Uh-huh."

"We only need to go up one floor." Derek gestured to the stairs.

Amber limped over to the stairs. It wouldn't be hard to go up them, would it?

She tried to walk up, but pain flared in her injured leg.

"Need help?" Derek asked.

Amber almost shook her head, but before she could do so Derek gently grabbed her arm. His hands were cold from the rain, and it made her shiver.

He helped her up onto the first floor.

The air reeked of sickness. Many people were coughing.

Derek lead Amber to a bed further away from the coughing people.

"Derek, I'm thirsty!" A sickly girl rasped.

"I'll be there soon, okay?" Derek called.

Derek sighed.

"I'm the only one who bothers working here anymore. Everyone else is too scared to get close. Most people here are werewolves that got bitten by the Silver Endermen." He explained.

Silencers. Amber shivered and sat down on her bed. She noticed a boy in the bed next to hers, looking at her. His clothes were white with baby blue spots, and he had hair as red as blood, curly at the ends.

"He doesn't look sick." Amber observed.

"Found him in the woods. Doesn't talk. Can't spell well. The most I got out of him was that his name was Ben. He could spell that much."
