CATHY'S POV
I don't want to go back from what I was before.
I don't want to go clubbing every night again.
I don't want to wreck any relationships at all.
I don't want to feel miserable.
I don't want to get hurt anymore.
I am at my Mom's fashion house. I was designing clothes for our next collection, although it was really not necessary. But I didn't mind.
Mom told me to rest, but I kinda liked what I'm doing, so I kept going. And besides, I'll receive a triple allowance because of this. And...this will help me.
"Hi, beautiful." Someone placed a paper bag full of foods in my working table.
I looked up and saw Michael.
"Hey." I said, smiling.
"Busy as always." He said. "But you still look gorgeous."
I shook my head. "Stop with the nonsense."
Seriously? Michael would always compliment me and tell me that I'm beautiful. Everyday.
Just like what you were before.
"Believe m---"
I cut him off. "Why don't we eat that lunch instead of complimenting me about the things I already know?"
He grinned. "That's it. I'm glad you know it. Let's eat."
While eating, Michael suddenly put down his utensils.
"Hey, would you mind coming with me at my grandparents place? They asked me to visit them, and I'm missing them too." He said.
"Why me?" I asked.
"Uh, nothing. I just want to be with you."
Straight forward much?
Well, we're close now. We're best friends.
I think.
I chuckled while looking at my food.
"Remember before, when you can't tell me you want me to be your prom date, and you left a note in my bag, then a classmate of ours borrowed my notebook, and I didn't know that your note was there, that classmate xeroxed a lot of copy of your note, and posted it around our campus? That was pretty epic." I said, catching my breath. Memories. "And now, you told to my face that you want to be with me? Brave Michael."
"I used to say I love you to you before. That was braver."
My breath stopped.
"So, how is your grandparents? It's been a while since I last saw them." I asked, almost changing the topic.
"They're great, still strong...maybe because they have each other." He said.
"Good for them." I said.
I would be strong, if only Kai was here.
"So what is your answer?" He asked.
"Fine. I miss them too." I answered.
"Really?" He sounds happy.
I nodded.
He stood up and about to reach for me with spreaded arms.
I dodge by moving my chair away.
"Not so fast, I don't need a hug, a 'thank you' will do. And besides, I'm still not taking a shower."
