Niall stood up and started walking towards the podium, tears falling freely down his face as he tightly clutched the piece of paper. He went behind it and looked at everyone before uncrumpling the piece of paper.

"Athena, she was my best friend and my girlfriend's sister. I remember the day when we found out" Niall said. He paused a bit as he remembered the memory, triggering even more tears to fall from his eyes.

"I'm sorry Ms. Julinton, we just caught it way too late. There's nothing we can do now. You have a little over a week yet" The doctor said making Athena sob into her hands as Niall hugged her tightly, tears falling from his own face.

"Is there really no way to atleast let her live longer?" Niall had asked.

The doctor shook his head making Niall hug her tighter.

"I'm sorry" the doctor said as the two best friends stood up and started walking to Niall's car.

They both got in but none of them moved. They just sat there in silence, not even slipping the key in the ignition.

After a few more moments, Niall finally started the car and drive off.

"How are you gonna tell Louis?" Niall asked, his voice shaking as tears still blurred some of his vision whilst driving.

Athena continued to stare out of the window before sighing and shaking her head.

"I won't" Athena said.

"Sophia?" Niall asked instead.

Athena faced his direction.

"We're not telling ANYBODY about this. They'll treat me differently. I want to spend the last days of my life feeling normal and happy. So please, don't tell anyone" Athena pleaded as tears silently fell.

Niall looked at her through the rearview mirror before nodding.

"She refused to tell anyone. Not even her sister, not even her fiancé. And she pleaded with me to keep it as well. I agreed because at the moment, I wanted nothing but for her to get what she wanted.

She was practically like a sister to me. And she would've been a few months from now" Niall said.

Sophia silenced her sobs by putting one hand over her mouth while looking the ring on her other hand. The day before her sister died, Niall had proposed to her. She was about to tell her sister the good news but instead, she got the dreaded phonecall from Louis saying that her sister was rushed to the hospital.

After Niall finished, it was now Sophia's turn. She stood up slowly, afraid that if she did it any faster, she'd collapse right then and there.

She stood behind the podium and took a deep breath to try and calm her sobs. She hadn't written a eulogy. She wanted to say exactly what was on her mind.

"Athena was the best sister anyone could ever wish for. Having abusive parents, her and Adam stood as Sean and I's parents, even though Sean's older. So I feel like I've lost my mother. A caring, loving, understanding, amazing mother. And she would've been an amazing one to their own child" Sophia said.

Quiet gasps could be heard through the room and eyes met Louis' own ones. He started crying harder upon his once-future-fatherhood being mentioned.
