I'm sick.
Not with a cold or anything like that.
I'm sick of not being able to do what I want.
Shopping
I used to love going to the mall with my mom or friends. Now I can stand it because everytime I walking into a store and I start looking at the cute clothes, I realize that I can't get any of it.
When I'm done wearing my brace, the first things I'm going to buy are some crop tops and some tighter shirts. Not THAT tight, but tighter than the clothes a 9 year old boy would wear.
Weather
When it's hot outside and I'm in public I may seem happy, but I'm dying inside.
There was one time where I was as my brothers lacrosse tournament and it was over 100°. Some of the players had heat exhaustion, that's how hot it was.
Well obviously I was burning alive so I asked my mom for the keys. She asked why and I told her I was going to take off my brace and put it in the car.
When I got to the car, I opened the door, took it off, put it on the floor, and calmly walked away.
And yes, it was very hot when I got back to put it back on.
Summer
Now this one makes me really mad.
I can only have my brace off for 3 hours a day. That 3 hours can be all at once, or over the whole day. (most of the time I have it off for less than 1 bc I don't do sports or anything like that, so I just take it off for gym and to shower.)
My point is, in the summer, under the hot beaming sum, people go swimming. But I can only go swimming for 3 hours.
That's not necessarily the bad part. The bad part is that when my time is up, I go inside (the pool's in my friends back yard) to put on my brace and just sit on the edge of the pool and watch my best friends swim. No, I don't expect them to get out and not have fun, it just sucks not being able too.
Pulling up my pants
This may not be relatable to you but I know it's a struggle trying to pull up your pants.
I have to bend slightly forward and put my fingers under the brace and push my pants up using my belt.
If you are able to picture what the looks like then bravo! You know how awkward I look on a daily basis.
Ayyyyyeeee. It's been like 5 years but guess who's back?
Abby is.
