? POV
Where am I? My head hurts. I look around. I'm not in the care home. I see a bed and on it is a little girl. I walk over and gasp.
"it can't be her." I mutter. She stirs and opens her eyes. I thought she died in the fire with our parents.
"Josh?" She asks in a small voice. I look at her in shock.
"Maddi? Is it really you?" I ask in shock. She nods tiredly. I look at her. She jumps up excited.
"Oh, you're both up. Maddi do you want pancakes or cooked breakfast?" Asks a feminine voice. I turn around to see a hummingbird lady.
"I dont know? Can I help? That's what I've always done." says Maddi. The woman nods and they run out the room. I follow them and look around in shock. There's a knock at the door. A white haired boy opens it and I see a load of my friends and one I haven't seen in ages.
"Jade!" shouts Maddi and hugs her.
"hi Maddi! Ready for your party?" She asks.
"yeah! The guardians want to talk to you!" exclaims Maddi. She's quite excited. Then I remembered. She's turning 9 today. I watch her dragging Jade into the kitchen. I follow them.
"what is it guys?" She asks.
"well, the Josh that invited all of you wasn't the real one. The real one is here now. The fake one is with Manny as it's his brother who took Elsa." says the whitehaired boy.
"well what do we do Jack?" Asks Jade.
"I could make him think that he did by making fake memories of it for Josh." says the hummingbird lady.
"do it." says Jade. Everything goes black...
JADE POV
We hear a thump from outside. I look and see Josh. He passed out because of Tooth making the new memories. I pull him into the room and Maddi gasps.
"what happened?" She asked.
"he passed out because of how I'm making new memories." says Tooth.
"Oh, okay." says Maddi. She looks at him.
"Tooth can you help Maddi choose a dress for the party?" I ask and she nods. They leave. It's just me and Jack with Josh now. I look at Josh. He has dyed his hair blonde. I brush his hair off his face and sigh.
"you like him, don't you?" says Jack. I look at Jack and nod.
"I do but I am pretty sure he's taken." I say sadly.
"well you're wrong." I hear Josh say. I turn around and see him awake and sitting up.
"Oh! Joshua you're awake!" I exclaim.
"why are you saying my full name?" Asks Josh.
"ummm.... I don't know?" I say unsure.
"you know it's been a long time since we last saw eachother." says Josh. I look at him sadly. He doesn't remember that it wasn't long ago.
"it wasn't as long ago as you think." I whisper. I saw him last night when they brought him here. I left shortly after that.
"Jade. Jack Frost to Jade Lewis! Are you okay?" shouts Jack. Josh is looking at us strangely.
"I'm fine Frost but thanks. I guess I was thinking a bit too much." I say. Jack chuckled.
"you know I can tell when you aren't okay." says Jack.
"no. I didn't but thanks for telling me." I say.
"now tell me." says Jack. I shake my head. He frowns.
"never!" I exclaim.
"I'll tickle you." warns Jack.
"no you won't because you can't catch me!" I shout and he comes for me. I dodge easily and I take the mick by yawning. I feel arms around me. I look and see Jack.
"Let me go, Frost!" I shout. He shakes my head and holds me tighter.
"not until you tell me." says Jack.
"okay..." I sigh in defeat. I look at him.
"do you want to talk outside?" Asks Jack. I shake my head.
"Josh deserves to know. It's that I have always been on my own since year 4. I have always been the odd one out and now that I finally fit in someone from my past appears and...." I say but trail off
"you feel lost again." finishes Jack.
"yeah I guess I do." I admit. He laughs again.
"your not the only one. When Manny brought his daughter Elsa to the guardians I felt lost. Once I started to protect her that feeling went away and now I feel lost without her." says Jack. I look at him.
"I'm guessing you like her." I say and he looks at me.
"what do you mean?" he asks.
"well, I acted like this at first when I lost Joshua and look at me now!" I say.
"okay, so I may have feelings for the Princess of the moon." says Jack. I look at him.
"well keep looking for her. You'll find her soon enough. I feel it in here." I say and point to my heart.
"okay thanks Jade. You know North was right. You are really good with advice." says Jack.
"your welcome Frost. I'm here to help for a reason. I made a deal with someone a deal where I must always protect and help the guardians." I whisper.
