Chapter 15 | The holiday season!

--Monday, December, mid-term exams week--

~Arabella's POV~

I was sleeping happily when suddenly a bright light was shone in my face and my covers were practically ripped off me.

"Deck the halls with boughs of holly~! Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la~! 'Tis the season to be jolly~! Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la~! Don we now our gay apparel~! Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la~! Troll the ancient Yuletide carol~! Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la~!" My mom's voice suddenly sang out. "Come on, Ari! Wake up! It's mid-term exams week which means it's the last week of school until Christmas break~! The sooner you get your butt outta bed, the sooner Christmas break will come!"

I groaned at my mother for her to go away.

"I don't think so, young lady! Now get up," Mom said before she tossed my uniform at me. "Get dressed! You'll be late for school!"

Then, she left my room.

I groaned once more before I reluctantly sat up and rubbed my eyes.

Thank GOD it's mid-term exams week...! I am SO READY a two-week-long break from school...!!!

Once I brushed my hair, teeth, and put my uniform on, I went into the kitchen to have breakfast.

Daniel was sitting at the kitchen table eating his cereal.

"Good morning Arabella, happy holidays, you look like shit this morning." Daniel said as he ate.

Ah... little brothers... You gotta love 'em...

"Says the pot calling the kettle black." I shot back.

Daniel gave me a confused look. "Che cosa?" [[Translation: "What?"]] he asked.

Really? He doesn't know what it means?

"It's an expression, dumbass." I said.

Daniel shot me a scowl.

"Kids, kids! No fighting! Christmas is about spending time with your family and getting along!" Mom said as she entered the kitchen.

"Well... it's not Christmas yet..." Daniel said.

Mom gave us both a look. "Behave. Both of you," she said. "And good luck to both of you for mid-term exams!"

"Thanks, Mom." Daniel and I said together.

My winter coat seemed to be no match for the cold winds of Japan. They practically sliced through my coat sleeves and covered me in goosebumps. Today it was snowing, not much, but still snowing.

And, unfortunately, I was stuck wearing a skirt, which left my legs practically freezing.

Soon, I arrived at Ouran, where I immediately headed inside.

A wave of heat hit me. They probably turned the heat up.

I was thankful for the warm temperatures in here that sheltered me from the cold.

I made my way to homeroom.

I sat down at my desk between Haruhi and the twins.

"Hey, Arabella. I can't believe we're already about half way through the school year... Time sure flies." Haruhi said.

"Yeah, it sure does..." I said.

"So Arabella, Haruhi, what are you two going to be doing for Christmas?" Hikaru and Kaoru asked.
