Chapter 31 | Year has ended. Summer has begun.
--several weeks later--
~Arabella's POV~
I tried to concentrate on my final exam, my last exam of the year.
It was kind of hard to concentrate though, mainly because I kept looking up at the clock.
Five minutes until summer officially begins.
A few minutes later, I just barely finished the test in time and handed it in to the teacher. Then, I sat back down again.
I looked up at the clock again.
One minute until summer officially begins.
I tapped my fingers against my desk as the final seconds counted down.
Five seconds until summer...
Four seconds until summer...
Three seconds until summer...
Two seconds until summer...
One second until summer...
The final bell rang with a shrill scream, and everyone immediately jumped out of their seats and filed into the hallway, eager to get home and start their summer. Including me.
I rushed out of the classroom and into the hallway, toward Music Room 3.
Today was the Host Club's last day of hosting until the next school year. And frankly, I was relieved to get a break.
I eventually arrived at the music room and went inside.
The Host Club was setting up for club hours.
"Hey, guys." I said before I set my bag down against the wall.
They all looked up from what they were doing. "Hey, Arabella."
"Hi, Ara-chan~!"
After I had set my stuff down, I proceeded to help them set up. When we were done, we all got into our cos-play outfits and waited for club hours to begin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Goodbye, my princesses! May you all have wonderful and glorious summers! We will miss you all dearly! See you again next year!" Tamaki said to all our guests as they left.
I bid all my male guests goodbye and said to have a good summer.
After they were all gone, we all cleaned up, grabbed our things, and left, Kyoya closing the Music Room 3 doors behind us.
Eventually, we were all chatting about what we were going to do this summer.
Of course, my rich friends were all going to exotic places that I've only ever dreamed of going to.
Soon, Haruhi and I were asked what we're going to do for summer.
To this, Haruhi replied, "Arabella and I are actually spending summer together. Well, some of it."
I nodded. "Yeah."
"What are you going to do?" Hikaru and Kaoru asked.
"Nothing much. We got summer jobs, which is nice." I said.
Eventually, we had made it outside Ouran.
I saw everyone's limos parked along the curb.
"Well, bye, guys. Have a great summer! See you next year!" I said as Haruhi waved at them. They all waved back.
"Bye, Haruhi! Bye, Arabella!"
"Bye, Haru-chan! Bye, Ara-chan!"
Then, Haruhi and I started walking home together. Luckily, my house and her apartment weren't too far from each other.
When we arrived at my house (since it was on the way to Haruhi's apartment), Haruhi bid me a goodbye and told me to have my things packed and ready by tomorrow morning.
I nodded. "Okay, Haruhi! And, thanks again for hooking me up with this summer job! I really appreciate it." I said.
Haruhi smiled. "Of course. Well, bye! See you tomorrow!" she said before she left.
I entered my house and went to my room to get packed.
Down the hall, I heard Daniel complain, "Mooom...! Why does Arabella get to go somewhere for the summer but I'm stuck here with nothing to do???"
I heard my mom reply, "Because, Daniel, Arabella isn't going to slack off, she's going to work at a summer job. Which, I think is very mature of her. Would you like a summer job too?"
I heard Daniel immediately say, "No!"
And that was the end of that discussion.
It took awhile, but I finished packing all the things I needed to take for my summer job with Haruhi.
I smiled up at nothing.
Even though I'd be working, this was going to be relaxing.
Because there was no school, no stress, no homework, no hosting duties...
And especially, no Host Club.
I can't wait.
Peace, quiet, and luxury, here I come.
