Till Forever

San Diego

I sat in the passenger seat of the Rover with my legs tucked up by my chest and my arm out the open window. Kalin had been driving south for about 30 mins and I noticed that we were headed towards San Diego from the road signs.

"Can I have any hints as to where we're going?" I asked as I turned down the music.

"Nope." Kalin answered quickly

"Ugh." I huffed "Do you know when Myles is proposing?" I asked slightly irritated. Kalin looked down at the digital clock on the radio "Anytime now actually." I checked my phone to see if I had any missed calls or texts, none.

I then checked Kalins phone that was freely sitting in the cupholder and he actually did have a text and it was from Myles. "Hey babe you have a text from Myles."

"Go ahead and open it." Kalin was never secretive or protective of his phone with me but I still always asked because thats just how I grew up.

"He said: Dude Im freaking out right now, Im so fricken nervous." I read.

Kalin chucked to himself. "Say: You got this man, it seems hard but I bet you that as soon as you look into her eyes you'll just blurt it out." He rambled off as I tried to speed text and send it. Kalin exited off the freeway toward San Diego like I predicted. "Alright are you hungry baby?" He asked.

"Yeah a little bit." I answered as I stretched.

"Where do you wanna eat? Chick fil a?"

"That sounds perfect." I said as I picked up Kalins phone again, this time he got a text from his mom: "Hi son, just wondering what the plan for Christmas is and some ideas for gifts for you and Abby." I read out loud.

"K I don't need anything for Christmas, I just wanna be with you." I said as we got out of the car to get chick fil a.

"Ill answer her later." He stuck his hand out for his phone. We got in and got our food.

"So while you were talking forever to pack I called a wedding planner thats down here that we can meet with."

"Oh ok, does she know we're from LA?"

"Yea but while I was talking to her she mentioned looking at different venues in San Diego."

I nodded "Ok, when do we have an appointment with her?"

"Tomorrow." He clicked his phone to see the time "And we should probably get going cause we have another appointment in an hour." We got up and got back in the Range, but the curiosity of this unknown appointment was killing me.

We pulled into a fancy Hilton hotel and the valet took care of the car as we went on to check in.

"Welcome to the Hilton, Im Macy, whats the last name sir?" The front desk lady asked Kalin.

"White." She typed into her computer until she picked up a pair of keys and scanned them.

"Here you are Mr and Mrs White." She handed us both a key card. "And also your couple massage is scheduled in 10 mins." She smiled as we thanked her and the bell cart guy followed us.

"I like the sound of that." Kalin smiled "Mr and Mrs White." I laughed.

"So we're getting couple massage huh?"

He just looked at me and smiled as we got in the elevator.
