Rooftop

It was 6am on my birthday and I was sitting on a roof crying.

I hadn't seen Kalin since his birthday other than on social media and I missed him. I wanted to be with him so bad but it wasn't good for me to see him because he was really acting crazy. I looked out at the city and wondered where he was.

Was he still partying?

Was laying in a bed wth some random girl naked?

My chest felt tight again and the tears began to run again.

Suddenly someone touched my shoulder, I whipped around scared to see Myles standing behind me with his phone in hand.

"Hey sorry to scare you but we found where he is." He said as he sat down on the rooftops ground with me.

I nodded wanting him to continue.

"He's back at the house, we guessed right that he's been partying all week but somehow he found his way back home."

"How do you know?" I asked.

"I've been watching the house cameras off my phone for a few days now, he seems sober right now. Last thing I saw he was playing basketball. He said. "I think he's  pretty confused as to where the dogs are." He added with a laugh.

"Do you think its ok to go see him?"

"if you think you're ready, Tay and I are probably going to stay here."

I nodded and got up to stretch my sore back since I had been sitting hunched for a good hour.

"If you want Tay mentioned maybe we could go to dinner tonight for your birthday." He gave me a weak smile.

"You guys are great, I'd love that." I gave him a side hug and we headed back down into the hotel, I packed up the dogs and my few things that I brought with me and headed towards the house.

I simply pulled into the driveway instead of the garage just in case I need to leave quick, I pulled out my key and entered the house.

The dogs came running behind me and flooded the house looking for Kalin.

I quickly followed them until they lead me to the kitchen where Kalin stood making a sandwich. His eyes shot up and locked into mine, he dropped his sandwich in shock and walked over to me. He grabbed my waist and brought his lips near mine until I stopped him.

"Kalin stop." I pulled out of his touch. "I cant do this right now, Im not ready." I looked down at my feet.

"Abby I don't even knowhow to apologize to you." He tried to grab my hand.

"Kalin please." I dodged his hand. "You have no idea what kind of damage you've done." I said harshly as I looked straight into his sad eyes. "You've hurt so many people because you let your emotion get in the way, I wanted to help you, I was ready to listen and comfort you but you wouldn't let me help you!" My eyes filled with tears. "Instead you let a bottle help you and probably random girls too. I just don't know you Kalin."

He stood staring at me completely broken by my words. "Abby" He went to grab my hand again but then quickly retracted. "I promise you I didn't get with anyone." He said pacing himself. "Im never gonna hurt you like that again, I promise." A tear ran down his face.
