The girl's eyes shot open. She sat up abruptly, and looked around.
It was almost dusk. The sun shone between the clouds.
She got up, and thought to herself.
"What happened?"
The lighting bolt had struck the ground in front of her, missing it by 2 feet. Though she had not been struck, she had been thrown back by the sheer force.
She would had instantly died if it had hit her.
One question rang back in her head.
"Who am I?"
She looked down at her necklace. It shimmered in the fading sunlight. She smiled.
"I may never know who I was...." She looked into the sky. "But I know who I shall be." A fear tears streamed from her eyes as the wind blew her stubbed red hair. She closed her eyes, and imagined she had her long hair back. Though it was not there, she could feel her locks tickle her shoulder and her neck.
"For eternity." She whispered.
