Chapter 20

Ryan's POV

Why were they here? Why did she leave with them?

"Ryan man you zoned out again. What's up with you? You've been like this since first period"

"It's nothing sorry man I'm just not with it at the moment "

"Do you wanna talk about it?"

"You sound like a girl"

""Shut up! I was just tryin to help"

"Yeah thanks man but it's nothing much to talk about"

"Alright well there's only 2 more lessons wanna skip?"

"And sit in that hour 30 detention tomorrow I think I'll pass"

"Ah I forgot about that, well Maths here we come then"

I groaned and followed him to the last double lesson of the day

"Schools done homie"

"Homie? Really Josh?"

"Yeah whatever d'you wanna hang?"

"I can't Reese wants to do some family dinner thing"

"Cool alright I'll call you later dude"

"Dude?! You know what I don't wanna know see ya"

Walking home I tried calling Jayda but it kept bouncing to voicemail; why is her phone off? This girl's so difficult. Unlocking the door Reese was in the kitchen cooking food.

"Afternoon Bro" 

"Afternoon, how was school?" 

"School was school how was your day?" 

"Fine, did you tell Jayda?"

"Yeah hasn't she texted you yet?" 

"No didn't you see her after school?"

"No she said this morning she was gonna spend time with Mrs Josephine and her husband, plus she left before first lesson"

"What?! And you just let her leave?"

"Believe me I didn't want to especially because she was leaving with that scumbag and that whore of a mum"

"Ryan are you stupid! She left with the two people she hates the most did that not flash warning signs?"

"What could I have done I had to stay in school!"

"Why didn't you call me dumb dumb?"

"I- I dunno I didn't think of that"

He shook his head and before turning of the stove and washing his hands, "I can't believe you were stupid enough not to call me"

Drying his hands he picked up his keys and left the house slamming the door. I guess that family dinner's out the question. 

Jayda's POV 

Lying under him I winced as he grunted again spilling himself in me, "You're sweet girl, real sweet. I'll ask for you again next time" 

He leant down to kiss me but I moved my head so his dirty lips landed on my cheek. Grabbing my face he forced his tongue into my mouth. "Maybe you'll be more cooperative next time" 

Standing up he pulled on his trousers, the other guys in the room watching did up their zippers as well. 

"Bye sweet pea"

Turning away from them I heard them knock on the door and leave. A towel was thrown in front of me and someone told me to cover myself, sitting up as best as I could I wrapped the towel around myself and stood up. The same guy who was outside the door was standing in front of me gesturing for me to follow him. Staying close behind him took me to what looks like a shower room before handing me the clothes I was wearing when I got here and a wash bag.

"Clean yourself up then you can leave"

I nodded and he left. Walking to a cubicle I scrubbed me skin raw trying to get all their filth off my body. Turning off the shower I quickly dressed and limped out the club. Seeing the dark sky I hurried as fast as I could to the nursery to get Belle. Ringing the bell over and over the door finally opened.

"Where's Belle?" Pops looked down on me a shocked look on his face but didn't let me in.

"What Jayda where have you been we've been waiting for you to come for 5 hours"

"Pops I need to see Belle please"

He stepped aside and let me go in to find Belle; She was passed out on the mats surrounded by her favourite toys. Sitting down next to her I ran my hand through her hair, thank God she's here. Why hasn't Ryan or Reese come to get her yet?

"Reese left a few hours ago"

I nodded again, I don't think I can use words at the moment, "Where were you Jayda?"

I shook my head if I told him what happened I don't know what would happen. "Come on Jayda talk to me"

I shook my head again collecting Belle's coat and softly puting it on making sure I don't wake her, Putting her rucksack on one shoulder I hoisted her up walking out the room and pasted pops. Holding her close I ignored the cold nip the wind provided and walked trudged to Ryan and Reese's house.

Walikng passed gangs of men who where cat calling and whistling as I walked pasted. Walking faster, wincing every once in a while when a jolt of pain flashes between my legs their cackling faded into the background.

Walking for about an hour I finally reached Ryan and Reese's house; ringing the doorbell there was a lot of shouting in the house before the door was flung open for me to see a very stressed Reese and a guilty looking Ryan behind him.

"Jayda!"

I gave him a look and he hushed realising Belle was asleep, walking passed him I climbed the stairs reaching the top and walking to my room, I gently placed Belle on my bed changing her into a pair of pyjamas as well as putting on a large t-shirt and a pair of shorts. There was a knock at the bedroom door but I couldn't answer, words can't seem to formulate together and leave my mouth so I put Belle under the covers and laid down behind her. She automatically turned to face my and snuggle closer curling into a ball before letting out a soft sigh. The bedroom door opened but I didn't look to see who came in I didn't want to talk. No. I couldn't talk so I acted like I was already sleeping.

"Jayda. Jayda are you awake?" 

Ryan kneeled down right beside my bed not saying anything for a while, "Jayda I'm sorry. I don't know what happened to you today but I shouldn't have let you go with those people I should have at least followed them. How could I have been so stupid to think they wouldn't do anything to you? Reese was getting really stressed but we're happy you're back here. We need you more than you need us, you and Abi make us feel like more of a family and we want you to be able to call this place your home. Please don't leave Jayda, don't even leave. I need you. You make me feel whole and make me feel happier than I have in a while. I know you're sleeping so what I said was probably a waste of breath but you had to know"

Standing up I felt him lay a soft kiss on my forehead and then Belle's before walking out the room and shutting the door. As much as he wants and I want I can't become part of his family, I can't put Abira's safety on the line to try so tomorrow I'm gonna leave. When everyone's at work or school I'm gonna pick up all mine and Belles possessions and leave because the life I'm living now is not fair on Belle. So tomorrow will be the day we disappear.
