3rd person P.O.V following Aleks:

“And now for the hard part,” Aleks thought.

He took a deep breath, “Second of all, he was a close friend. I loved one of my closest friends.”

Aleks waited for a reaction, looking down at his feet.

“Loved?” he heard Eddie say, his voice cracking.

“Yes, loved.”

“You don’t love him anymore?” Eddie asked, still looking clueless to who Aleks was talking about which was obviously him.

If he was just acting oblivious to whom he ‘loved’, he was doing a damn good job.

Aleks grew tired of this; he expected the rejection to be quick, like ripping off a Band-Aid. But, no, of course it wouldn’t be quick for him. No, it would probably take longer and be just as, if not more, painful. He turned back to face the Latino.

“Yes, I don’t love him anymore, hence the past-tense of love,” he explained, slightly irritated.

“Why?”

“Might as well get this over with,” he thought.

“Because once I realized it, he grew distant. The more I would drop small hints, the more he would avoid taking to me. He ignored me, he wouldn’t record with me and when I would talk to him, he would give the simplest answers, if he answered at all that is. At first, I shrugged it off, thinking that he didn’t feel well or something. A few weeks later, I started realizing that this wasn’t just some sort of ‘phase’ or anything. Then, he got a girlfriend and when I would try to make conversation with him, he would always change the subject to her and how amazing she was. She would always interrupt our alone time together and, as if they knew about my feelings and decided to torture me, they would do a bunch of cute or cheesy stuff around me. I decided not to confess my love for him, thinking he would reject me on the spot and I thought it would be more agonizing than what I was already experiencing. Boy, was I wrong.”

“How come?”

“It hurt a lot, and I mean, a lot more. Knowing that the guy I loved was happy with someone who wasn’t me, that I couldn’t even compare to her.”

“And why did you let him hurt you?”

“’Cause I loved him,” he replied simply.

Seeing Eddie’s confused face, he decided to go into more detail.

“And I knew that I would do anything for him, even feel horrible and depressed every day.”

“And what happened to you and him?”

Aleks inwardly groaned, he knew Eddie knew who he was talking about and what had happened; he wasn’t stupid.

“We argued, I left, went to the park, cried, cut, slept, woke up and he found me somehow and here I am, talking to him.”

He saw realization hit the face of the one in front of him.

“W-What?”

“Yes, he was you. I loved you. Now can I go pack my stuff?”

“W-Why would you do that?”

“I said I would be out of your hair in the morning and I meant it,” he stated bluntly, getting up and riding his pants of any filth that could’ve somehow gotten on them.

He started walking away but was stopped by a familiar voice.

“Aleks, wait!”

And that’s when he just couldn’t take it anymore. He turned around and faced the yelling man.

“Wait for what? You keep saying wait but it’s always for nothing! All I’ve done is wait, wait for you to do something, say something! What do you want me to wait for, getting rejected? No fucking thank you!” he shouted, turning and walking faster to the entrance of the park.

“I swear this time it’s worth it, Aleks. Just wait for one last time.”

For some reason, Aleks stopped. For some reason, he believed this time waiting would actually be worth it. He believed the man who always asked him to stop when nothing good would come out of it.

He slowly turned around and did exactly what Sly wanted him to do, he waited.

For what? He had no clue; it could be a lot of things. A rejection, a confirmation that their friendship was over or a demand that his room be empty by tomorrow.

He looked at Eddie’s face and notice that he was completely thinking this through, making sure that he wouldn’t mess this up.

Honestly, Aleks knew that what he said previously was a lie. He did love the man that made him suffer for months. Amazingly, his feelings were still there and, even though his heart was broken and injured, his love for Sly was still strong. So, a small part of Aleks that was buried in his grief, confusion and frustration, still hoped for his feelings to be mutual.

And, out of nowhere, he felt a pair of lips touch his. He looked at the one he was kissing and hungrily kissed back, pouring all his emotions into the kiss. His misery, his frustration, his neediness, everything. He felt Eddie’s teeth nibble on his bottom lip, his way of asking for entrance. Aleks wasn’t surprised, after all, Eddie constantly said he was a bitter when kissing was mentioned on Creature Talk.

He granted the Puerto Rican entrance happily and their tongues fought heatedly for dominance. Aleks won; he had been waiting for this for so long he unconsciously went really try hard in that fight.

He explored the others mouth and felt a hand run through his hair and slightly tug on it, causing him to moan.

During the whole kiss, Aleks thought he was going to explode from all the sparks he was feeling. It was a magical moment and he made the best of it, as if it would be the last time this happened, because, chances were, it could be.

Finally, after what felt like forever to Aleks but was actually a few seconds, they pulled back for air.

Eddie placed his forehead on his as they both panted slightly, a blush spread across both their faces.

“Wow,” Eddie breathed, sounding completely dazed.

Aleks felt his face heat up even more as he took in another breath.

“Yeah,” he answered, slightly dazed himself.
