Chapter 10 YAY! (:

Here I go: Chapter 10 - Awakening

Claude's P.O.V.

When Phia sank her fangs into my neck there was a pleasant feeling followed by excruciating pain. I felt my eyes close and my limbs sag. Looking at Phia one last time I saw her get torn away from me, I tried to reach and call her but I was too tired. Another wave of pain crashed into me, I mentally screamed until I was out of breath. My voice came out as screaming and yelling, again and again, refusing to subside until the pain did. It felt as if I was fighting those guards again, but this time every time they struck me thousands of heated needles would stab into me and push themselves slowly into my flesh getting hotter and hotter until they were under my skin burning at a thousand degrees. Then the guards would bring me to a mountain top during a thunder storm and leave me to be electrocuted. Each bolt of lightning that coarse through me was magnified by the thousands of needles indebted in my tissues.

Second after second, minute after minute the pain never ceased, it only increased. By counting the seconds, minutes and hours that passed by I was able top keep my sanity.I counted until the time I would get to see my Phia again. Sweet lovely fierce Phia. Sometimes the agony would be too much and I would lose count. The torment coursed through me too frequently that I gave up counting. All that would keep me sane now, were the memories of Phia.

Time where I was seemed to last forever. Seconds would feel like hours. Days would feel like years, and years like a millennium. Yet each second, day, year, the pain never subsided. My blood would boil within me and cause my skin to melt. It never fully melted off, so some unknown force ripped off each piece of skin, tearing my flesh from my body. They would tear it slowly just to make it that much sweeter when I screamed in pain. The massive burning inferno burning away at my soul got worse but the second. It was unbearable to the point where I would've killed myself even if Phia was waiting for me. When I reached that point I felt both my body and mind respond and slip away towards a place that was bright and joyous.

It felt like a safe haven the closer I got to it. The bright white like was envelolpping me. It felt right. The light moved farther away when I heard someone calling me. "Claude....C-Claude please wake, wake, up.... I-I need you."

The voice stuttered as it spoke. I think it was crying, maybe even bawling its eyes out. The more it called me name the more the light turned black and the pain returned. I wanted to shout at the voice to stop calling me so I could go back into the serene white light. Yet, it never flattered except for the occasional hiccup and inhalation. I heard the voice again a couple seconds later. This time it was as clear as day what it said. What she said. "...C-C-Claude. Please come back to me..... When you collapsed and started screaming my heart nearly gave out... It-It hurt so much to see you in so much pain...... Claude, please give me a sign that you made it. Claude? Clau-" she paused to let out a breath she was holding "....I love you."

She loves..me? She's told me that she likes me very much... but she never told me that she loved me. It would've made my heart soar but at the moment my heart was chained to bed of nails. After what seemed like days after Phia told me that she loves me the pain lessened and I grew stronger. Subsequently time flew by and I could feel my body grow strong along with my mind. I knew that I would wake up soon. I would wake and walk the earth as a vampire, along side Phia and her pack.

"When is he going to wake up?.....He is gonna wake up right?" a voice said. I recognized that voice! It was Ralphe.

"He should be waking up soon. You can hear his immortal heart beating stronger." This voice was new to me, but it vaguely sounded familiar.

"Dear god I hope so. We need his strength for the upcoming fight." sighed Eli.

All the pain subsided in my limbs and now the only placed that had yet to distinguished was my heart. The pain that ate away at my soul was now just a numbing feeling. I tried wiggling my fingers and I heard all the excited chatter among the people in the room. I guess that means I did it. The small pain in my heart was bearable until it started thrumming with adrenaline that made pain shoot through my body. It felt like all the suffering I went through was nothing compared to was I was feeling now. The needles stuck in my tissues had corroded and the rust was poisoning me. I guess I wasn't strong enough to over the venom, then. I was ready to leave when the pain left as fast as it had come, and I opened my eyes.
