Chapter 17 - Unable (still Cain's p.o.v)

Still running  through the forest with the Cullen's chasing us, I decided to step it up a notch. Hey guys, how bout we have some fun with the vamps. I said grinning like mad. Fey connected our minds to theirs as we slowed down to a complete stop, letting them catch up with us, but not before we told Renesme to keep going. Glancing back at the on coming vampires I said If you guys can convince Renesme to convince us to come back with you, we'll go no questions asked. Deal?

As the vampires caught up the looked at each other trying to figure out what I was planning. Getting frustrated from not being able to read my mind Edward agreed, nodding his bronze head. Everyone!...From here on out whoever gets caught by the Cullens' or persuaded by Renesme loses and has to go back to the start. Compredre, mon amis?

 Getting back a murmur of agreements and yeses, I split apart from the pack, running in a different direction. In mid stride I shifted back into my human form, seeing as it was easier to control Inferno when you don't have raw emotions igniting your every move; that is if i even have to let him out. Looking over my shoulder to see who had followed me, I was surprised to see Alice there; stalking me like a predator.

"Well hello Alice." I said care freely, looking straight ahead.

"Caaaaiiinnnn." Alice replied pulling my name out like she was scolding me. "Come on. We know what Seth-"

Hearing that thing's name sent Inferno ablaze under my skin, he wanted out and from the looks of it so did my wolf. Mustering all the hatred I could I cut her off before she could say anymore "Don't say that thing's name, in front of me ever again, or I won't be able to control my actions." Glaring at the trees in front of me I felt them slightly wither under my stares. If looks could kill, which in Tristian's case could, then I would have been a mass murderer.

When I turned around to see where Alice was I didn't see her anywhere. The sneaky little pixie. Scanning the forest floor and trees I saw something blur past the base of my tree. Smirking to myself I leaped to the next behind mine and spiralled down behind her. Landing swiftly behind her I saw her hands twitch. Mentally cursing Alice turned around with her hands stretched out for my biceps. It was just too bad that they were too big, I thought to myself grinning like a wild cat.  

We were silently battling it out when Alice's eye's glazed over and she stiffened like a plank. Immediately sniffing the air for an immediate danger I found none. Strange. Waving my hand in front of Alice, I whispered to her "Aliceeeeee. What's wrong?"

After a few seconds of trying to get her attention she suddenly grasped my forearms and tackled me to the ground, trying to hide us from view. What ever made her nervous sent my wolf crazy trying to figure out what I had missed. Closing my eyes I let him out close to the surface of my skin. Silence covered the forest floors. Nothing was heard except for the occasional whisper in the distance made by one of the games of tag.

 I watched as Alice blinked a couple times never talking her eyes off something straight ahead of her. She slowly maneuvered around me closing in on whatever she was looking at. Wordlessly I followed her. I didn't dare take a breath, I wanted to avoid being noticed as much as possible. Eventually I noticed what Alice was looking at, isn't wasn't one thing but two. Two of the guards that held us prisoners.

"Well, isn't it my ole pals Daemon and Andrea."

Phia's P.O.V

Everything's better than waking up, but at some point you have to do it. Usually when you wake up you're greeted be the warmth of your blanket, or in my case your pack, but apparently they missed the message and I woke being thrown into a freezing lake. Yelping, I stood hunching over trying to rub some warmth into my arms. I gave up after about 2 seconds and summoned Aqua. Looking around me I saw that Ellie was the one who threw me. Glancing behind me I saw Eli sniffling his laughter, while trying to evade Edward. Turning back around I saw Bella stalking Ellie, and Renesme approaching me.

Brushing the water off the shoulder, Aqua made all the water on me pull away from my clothes and suspend in the air. Playing along with the obvious game of tag I waved Renesme to come and get me. Since I was Aqua and she was me and my movements were hers, I pointed my fingers like a gun and to aim at Renesme.

"You ready little one?" I said tauntingly.

Playing along she bowed "Always." she said as she lunged towards me.

She wasn't as fast as a normal vampire but being that she was half human these kinds of restrictions were expected. From the look of the lunging stance it didn't look it she wanted an actual fight but more of a game of cat and mouse. Her being the cat and I the mouse. Shrugging off her lunge, I stepped out of the river over to Eli and Edward. Counting down the seconds till Renesme would reach me I got Aqua ready.  3-2-1. Game. Set. Match. The moment Renesme set foot in the water she trapped herself in an ice cage.

 Smiling at myself I thought I'd sit on the sidelines and wait for Ellie and Eli to catch their cats. Looking back at Renesme I felt bad for leaving her there, I was going to release her from the cage when Bella broke through one of the walls and set her free. Frowning at the sight of my cage being broken, I readied myself for her comeback; when I saw Ellie from behind Bella, gaining speed. Calling her up on the mind link I said

I'm tired of these stupid games, Ellie. After we shake them off, how about the pack take a long needed vacation, huh?

 Hells to the yes!!

Using Lier (Lee-EY) I amplified the twins powers as well as mine to end this silly game. As i saw Ellie a get into postion behind Bella I told Eli to rally up Edward so that he was in the middle with his family. As Eli was doing just as I instructed I made more water shoot their way so they were distracted. When Eli finally got Edward in the middle and got into position, we stood in a triangle and lifted our arms at the same time. Just as I was letting the electricity flow through my body to Eli and Ellie's, Renesme took a daring step towards me while Edward and Bella were trying to hold her back and keep an eye on the twins.

 Holding her arms out she said "Please calm down. Why don't we go go back to the house where you can talk it out with Seth, huh Seraphiel?"

At the sound of my imprints name my body stiffened, but when I heard her say my full name I lost it. Since I was using Aqua at the moment she was the one that took control along with Blitz (lightning). Water swirled dangerously fast around my body as bolts of lightning ran along my peach skin. "What did you call me?"

 "Seraphi-"

"DON'T SAY THAT NAME!!!" i sreamed at the top of my lungs. "THAT IS NOT MY NAME!"

Clutching my head, Aqua and Blitz materialized beside me, theirs eyes pitch black. Swooning on my feet I distantly heard the twins call out both Terras' telling them to guard the Cullens while they tried to calm me down. Blitz and Aqua went ahead and attacked, trying to get to the one who had caused me this distress; while, I choked back the screams in my throat. For some strange reason I used to love my name but when I was still at the institute 'they' used to call me that all the time. I grew to hate that name like the hatred that grew for the demons that worked there. I can barely remember it but someone used to use my name in a song for something.

In my current situation i wanted nothing more than to break down screaming, but i knew that i couldn't.... I couldn't let my emotions get the better of me. The day I let that happen is the day that i lose my mind and succomb to my wolf.
