Chapter 18 - No Choice

Cain's P.O.V.

Racing to the spot I heard Phia cry from I left Alice to conjure up her thoughts about what Daemon and Andrea told us. No. I can't think about that now, I need to focus on Phia...... I'll be there soon Phi. I hope she heard me. For all I know her wolf could've taken over. Only a couple more meters! 

The blinding light from the sky distracted my eyes from the scene in front of me. But, my ears and eyes could sense the situation perfectly. Phia's screams had turn to heart wrenching grunts of pain, while the smell of earth flew through the autumn air. Gaining back my sight I saw Aqua and Blitz pushing back the Cullens as well as the twins' and their Terras'. Phia was digging her clawed hands into the dirt with her back hunched over, like she was trying to shift. Running to her, I noticed Aqua and Blitz were too preoccupied with protecting Phia from the immediate threats. I kept waiting for her to shift but it never came.

Shifting uncontrollably without the sense of your consciousness is very dangerous. I saw it happen countless of times to the other 'wolves' at the facility. Their bodies physically and mentally couldn't take it. So, to cope with it the body breaks down incredibly fast, within a matter of minutes the victim will start uncontrollably vomiting blood. Their hair would fall the to ground in massive clumps along with patches of their scalp. The acid from their stomach would burn their throats to the point where you can see their necks collapsing inwards. During this whole process their veins would bulge all over their body and you could see all their blood leaving their body as the vomited it all out. By the end of the couple minutes their skin would have already darkened and gone leathery, their eyes pasty orbs, all colour drained from their once luminescent eyes.

Those bastards purposely made me watch so I knew what they were capable of..... What they were capable of doing to my pack.... to Phia. Just thinking about it made me want to burst every vein in my body. 

Taking a hold of both her hands I willed Phia to look at me. But, she was too distracted by her pain to see me even though she was looking at me. Placing my forehead on her slightly glistening one I looked into her pained filled emerald right and her sapphire left eyes "Phia" I whispered moving my head so i was nestling her a bit "I need you to listen to me. You need to take a hold of you emotions-"

"C-ain."

If i hadn't been what i am i wouldn't have been able to hear her delicate voice calling me. "I'm here Phia."

"I-i can't control them. T-they're moving on their own. I c-an't-"

"Phia." I said sternly "You are the Alpha of the Crimson Moon Pack. The saviour of our family. Our mother figure. Our friend. You. Can. Do. It. If you break I will spend an eternity putting you back together." grasping the back of her neck I looked into the eyes of the girl I loved. 

Moving my hand I made it so that i was holding the back of her neck with my eyes staring at her's. Pulling her up I knew she was mentally to weak to stand on her own, so I held her up by her waist, as she looked up at me. Taking a deep breath Phia lifted her left arm and swept them over Blitz and Aqua as if she was talking out their batteries, shutting them down. What surprised me was the toll it seemed to take on Phia. Blitz and Aqua stopped attacking but now they were coming towards us. I knew couldn't fight them unless I wanted to hurt Phia. So, I pushed her behind me so that I could at least shield her from any attacks. Phia didn't struggle and I held her in my arms, my back to Aqua and Blitz, instead she just peaked over my shoulder. If I had known her irises were pulsing a gleaming honey golden colour I would've have just Aqua and Blitz come at us. Because, when they did they passed right through me and wrapped themselves around Phia, hugging her.
