Chapter 11: Crushed
-Ashley's POV
"...I've decided that instead of coming with you on tour, I'm gonna stay here.", I said. Ed's face dropped and I could tell he was disappointed. My heart sunk, "Ed, I want to come.. It's just, Stevie is in the hospital and I need to be here for her. I also won't be able to to focus on my music career when I'm traveling so much. I'm sorry." Ed grabbed my hands and looked me in the eyes. "It's okay love, I understand. I'll be gone for a while, stay in touch. Send me some of your music, I could help you get out there.", Ed said quietly, obviously still sad. I leaned in and hugged him. "Thank you so much Ed.", I murmured.
We pulled apart and I could tell things were tense. Ed got up and walked onto his flat balcony. I followed him. wiggling my way into his arms. I looked up at him and he was staring straight forward into the night sky. "Ed. It's not like were never going to see each other again.", I said quietly. He looked down and gave me a slight smile. "I know babe, it's just.. I'm gonna miss you.", Ed admitted. I smiled widely and pulled his face to mine.
Fireworks. That's what I felt when I was around Ed. Whenever we touched, whenever we looked at each other. Major sparks. He pulled away, pushing some loose strands out of my eyes and just looked at me. He looked at me with the purest love I had ever seen. And I loved it. I smiled and played with his hair. Ed leaned me against the balcony railing, his arms secure around my waist. My arms locked around his neck. We stayed there for a while, just talking. Telling each other how much we'd miss each other while he was on tour. We soon moved to the balcony chairs, and stayed there for a while. My head resting on his lap, Ed playing with my hair. I really hope I didn't make the wrong decision of staying here.
I was lost in thought when Ed chuckled, looking down at me. "What are you thinking about Ashley?", Ed asked. "Us.", was all I needed to say. Ed grabbed my hand and led me out of his flat. "Ed, where are we going?", I questioned. "It's a surprise.", he replied. Ugh but I hate surprises.
