I was given the job of defending while Cap, Widow, and the Maximoffs hurriedly ushered the civilians onto the S.H.I.E.L.D. lifeboats. As one shield cracked, I created another one overlaying it. The army began to fray at the edges and spread out, trying to run around my protection. I created anti-defending shields on the sides and above. I picked off the stragglers getting around the shields with lightning bolts and golden waves. With the shield doing its job, I helped usher people into the boats.
I looked to the sky into to see War Machine streak past.
"Yes! Now this is gonna be a good story!" Rhodey cheered.
"Yup, if you live to tell it," Tony added.
"You think I can't hold my own?"
"We get through this, I'll hold your own."
"You had to make it weird."
"I'm thrilled you two are having a blast up there," I remarked.
"Andster!" Tony hailed. "Glad you're back with us!"
"So sorry I was late to the party. I was too busy being held captive by a power hungry murderbot."
With the banter to a minimum, we continued to usher people onto the lifeboats. They filled up quickly and took off to the Helicarrier just as fast.
