~Finale Pt.2~
Reaper took first strides and went for the poor sucker didn't even know what hit him.
Literally, coming at the the speed Reaper did... I wouldn't have known either.
With him down Devi gut punched another victim and drove a forward knee into his skull.
While watching that unfold I realized behind me, Panther beat down another man.
"Well, different level of intensity huh?" I said half joking.
"What happens when you hang with the big dogs." Said Devi.
"Well the big dogs got some problems." Panther said pointing at the door ahead of us.
"Obviously we can't just bust it, it could be linked to an alarm if we open it that way."
Swiftly I sniped the gun from Devi's holster and took aim at the alarm we forgot earlier.
"Extra precautions."
Reaper commanded me and Panther to work on the door.
Panther pulled up his sleeve to reveal a screen that he started to point at the direction of the door.
"Guess you were right about about the door, I may be able to disable the circuits."
He crouched down and began to scan around the door.
"So how's Devi?" Well, shit that startled me. I paused.
"you didn't seem secretive but if you wanna crack whatever man."
Thanks for the right of privacy.
I looked around, a bit disconnected from whatever Panther was doing.
"Am I the only one a bit worried about Reaper?"
"Heh, you sure as hell ain't the only one."
"Boys, how's it going over there?" Devi called.
"About as well as it should be just need a couple more minutes."
Well so far he's definitely made short work of this. The alarm I shot was already being fully disabled.
Apparently a straight bullet didn't do the trick.
My headset fizzled, "Guys get out of the room your in projectile on the way!
Quickly I shifted my body towards the window. A black figure zipped towards the window we blasted.
"Everyone the door is open! Move it."
As I ran through the corridor I heard crashes erupting.
"I think that might as well have been an alarm." I said letting my worry show.
"Oh really? Never would have guessed." Reaper said in an alec tone.
We made our way further down the hallway and the headset fizzled again,
"Yeah they definitely know you're here. Watch your backs."
Thanks for the warning. The hallway exploded into guards and guns in our intended path.
Well obviously Ace was right about the guards.
Devi and Panther duck behind metal crates and started a standoff. "We'll hold 'em here get your asses to the objective!"
I felt horrible leaving Devi behind but I couldn't let feelings get in my way. Titan, Reaper, and I made our way towards the objective and were greeted with about five mechs.
Guess they had no intention of making it easy.
Whatever device Titan used, it worked. Four of the mechs went down meaning we had one to wage war with. I took a swipe at the shoulder joint and sparks flew.
Crates flew back at us as the mech responded to my short ranged assault. Reaper was latched onto the ceiling with is grappling hook, it seemed he wanted a diversion. Looking around, I decided I'd be the diversion he needed.
"Alright, come on junkbox!" I dashed at it, leaped and readied my sword to slice the injured limb. On contact I was caught with the machine's other hand. Bullets wizzed past piercing the mech's hand.
In response it dropped me and started stuttering like a confused seal. Reaper came down from the ceiling with a dropkick, and sent the metal dumpster out the window. It hit the ground like a brick. And all the kings horses and all the kings men, couldn't put Junkbox together again.
"We have captured the objective." Reaper sent the news through the headset.
Devi and Panther made their way onto the scene and joined us as we swandived on the building.Titan's forcefield slowed us down for a comfy landing on the mid-air Blackhawk. That wasn't the end, the Blackhawk started falling as fast as we were. It had been hit.
We made a jump for the traintracks and with a slight knee buckle I started my sprint. Devi was behind me and tossed me the case. She then ran out of sight, I couldn't focus on that, I had to keep running. Rockets flew toward me, I ducked under one and switched to the other side of the tracks to dodge the other two.
Devi was scaling across the buildings waiting for me to toss the case. With all my might I swirled the case towards her, it looked like it would make it, barely.
My other arm felt felt like it burst, sending my brain into absolute agony. I'd describe the pain more to you, but I didn't feel anything anymore, my mind sent into submission by a black void. I didn't know what had hit me, but it definitely didn't miss.I was a goner.
