The week was over before I even knew it had begun. Every night for the past week, at least one of the boys has come over and helped me with decorations for at least three hours. One day I came home to Hakyeon and Taekwoon sitting around the table making decorations. They stayed with me for until I forced them to go home and rest at 11:00. Hongbin had come to the house yesterday and he helped me finish the last few. I called all the boys and told them to come over today so I could throw them a little thank you party.
I spent most of the day preparing their favorite foods and side dishes. I sent Wonsik to buy whatever beer and pastries they would like while I was setting everything up so they could dig in as soon as they got here. As I set down the last side dish, the doorbell rings. For a second I question if it's even them since the door hadn't just burst open. I open the door and I'm instantly attacked by Jaehwan. Once I can finally pry him off of me, I greet everyone else as they come in and tell them to head straight for the kitchen which they do without hesitation.
"Sit down but don't eat yet," I shoot Jaehwan a look.
"Why are you looking at me," he asks indignantly.
"Because you're the most unpredictable." Once they all sit down I take the head of the table and Wonsik takes the other. "I just wanted to bring you guys here and treat you to something nice since you have helped Wonsik and I so much this past week. I know you've done more on your own too like the invitations and a lot more but getting those decorations done two weeks early is such a huge weight off my shoulders and I can't thank you enough."
"We do it because we love you guys. We want to help make this the most amazing experience of your lives," Hakyeon says.
"Thank you so much. I love you all so much and I don't know what I would do without any of you," I smile and suddenly become weirdly emotional.
"Seriously guys, we've had a crazy couple of weeks but having you guys around has really lightened the mood here and both Rigi and I have stopped stressing as much about these things. You have no idea how much you've helped us through all of this," Wonsik adds.
"Maybe we should just move in," Hongbin jokes.
"Yeah!" Jaehwan exclaims.
"Okay no one's moving in. Now eat!" I say to distract them before they get any more crazy ideas. Instantly they go right for their chopsticks and begin shoving food in their mouths. I look across the table at Wonsik and smile. He smiles back at me and mouths, "thank you."
"Eat," I mouth back. Once we've managed to devour all the food, we sit around the table and talk for a few hours waiting for the food to settle before I bring them their pastries. "Okay guys go to the living room, I'll bring you some dessert."
"I'll help you," Wonsik says. Everyone else wobbles into the living room still full from the meal. "That was delicious," he says as we start grabbing the pastries.
"Thank you. I don't thank you enough. I realized while I was thanking the boys how much I love them but also how much you've helped me through all of this. You've always been there for me and you put up with my stupid complaints and try to compromise and make me happy. Thank you so much, honey. I love you," I tell him.
"You don't have to thank me. I love you too. Thank you for your love," he puts the plates down and pulls my face so our foreheads are touching and his hands still on my cheeks. We close our eyes and stay like that for a while just being happy.
I give him a quick peck on the lips, "come on, let's take the stuff before they get fussy." We set the food on the now clear coffee table since all the decorations are gone. I quickly grab one before taking my seat since I know they'll finish them before I even have a chance to get anything if I wait. We watch movies, eat the pastries and laugh the whole night. Once it's about 10:00 I yawn and the boys insist on going home so I can rest. "It's okay, I'm not that tired yet. I miss having you guys around," I say.
"You should rest up anyway. The two of you should have more alone time too, we've been taking your attention from Wonsik too much lately," Hakyeon says.
"You do look tired. You should go to sleep," Taekwoon says. "Let's go guys." Without another word they all stand up and say their goodbyes. I hug each one of them and thank them again for all their help. Wonsik and I walk them out and wave them goodbye as they drive away.
"That was fun," Wonsik says.
"Yes, I'm happy they all came," I yawn again. "Let's go to bed, we can clean up in the morning." We walk upstairs and get ready for bed. I slide under the blankets, lay on my stomach and close my eyes. Wonsik begins massaging my shoulders and I fall asleep as he softly sings to me.
"Honey..."
"Mmhhhhh," I groan as Wonsik wakes me up the next morning.
"Your parents are here," he says.
"Why," I ask, still half asleep.
"They brought us a gift."
"Okay, tell them I'll be right down." I get out of bed and quickly change and throw my hair up. I go downstairs and find my parents happily chatting with Wonsik. I love watching him interact with my parents since they get along so well. "Morning," I say as I step into the room.
"Good morning," my parents reply. I take the seat across from my parents next to Wonsik and they place a bag on the table. "Rigi," my mom begins, "these are just some things I want you guys so have for the wedding. Don't open it until we've left okay."
"Wonsik, there's something in there from me to you. It's been passed down for generations and I'd be honored if you wore it on the day of your wedding," my dad says.
"Thank you father. I will take great care of it," Wonsik replies, bowing his head.
"We just wanted to give you guys those things before the wedding got too close. We'll be going home now," mom says.
"Thank you both," I say as I stand up. I hug them and kiss their checks. We walk them out and say our goodbyes. We wait for their car to leave before going back inside and opening the bag. There's a little silver box labeled "Wonsik." He takes it out and opens it to reveal an antique pocket watch. It's gold but looks very worn.
"It's beautiful..." Wonsik stammers. "You're parents are too good to me."
"It's because they know you're too good to me," I smile and kiss his cheek before reaching in and grabbing the bigger box at the bottom. They feel like shoes and I open them to find pale blue high heels. In the box there's a little note that says, "I wore these on the day of my wedding. They were white but I thought the blue might fit your winter theme better and they match your necklace. Love you, mom."
I smile at the note and feel tears welling in my eyes. I pick up the shoes and admire how beautiful they are, not just because the way they look but how much they mean to me since my mom went through all the work to get them to me. I put them back in the box and sniffle a little bit. "Oh come here," Wonsik says as he pulls my into his arms. We sit for a little bit just holding each other, too happy to say anything until the moment is ruined by my phone ringing.
"It's Hakyeon," I tell Wonsik when I look at my phone. "Hello," I answer.
"Rigi! Have you seen the news?!" Hakyeon yells.
"What news?" I ask.
"People are suspecting Wonsik is getting married!" Hakyeon sounds genuinely concerned and I know he isn't messing with me.
"What?! How do they know?!"
"Somehow people got pictures of Wonsik tasting the cakes. You can't see your face in any of the pictures so you're still a mystery girl but point is, they know."
"Okay Hakyeon I'm going to call you back. I need to see what's going on."
"I'll hang up now," he says.
"What's going on," Wonsik asks.
"Hold on a second." I go on google and type in VIXX Ravi getting married and there are already plenty of articles to choose from. I quickly skim one article but fortunately it seems like they don't have much information except that he's getting married to a mystery girl since he was tasting cakes and it's probably sometime soon. I hand my phone to Wonsik and he instantly blows up.
"How did they get these pictures?!" he yells.
"I don't know. I can't tell how or from where they were taken but point is, they know so we're going to have to be way more careful from now on."
"What do the comments say?" he asks.
"I don't know I only skimmed the article to see if they had anything really important. It doesn't seem like it so I think we're okay for now," I sigh and place my head in my hands.
"Well... Fans aren't too happy. Most of them anyway, some are congratulating us but some are talking about crashing our wedding," he says.
"They can't do that right? They'd have to find out exactly where and when to be there," I try to calm myself down.
"No they won't find out," he assures me. "We just have to be extra careful. I don't think we should leave the house together or even go to the venue until the day of."
"Yeah... That's so annoying, we barely get to go out together anyway," I pout.
"Hey you'll always have me at home though," he smiles. I give him a little face then take a deep breath before getting up. "I'm going to go for a run to clear my head a little bit. I'll come back and shower then I'll make us breakfast," I kiss his forehead before heading upstairs to change. I'm still annoyed but Wonsik has already made me feel a little better so I try not to think about it. I know I'll have my boys to protect me if something happens at the wedding but I hope it doesn't come down to that...
