17. Catching Up

The two boys were seated on the couch in Baekhyun's livingroom, Baekhyun had just finished telling Kyungsoo all about what had happened lately with the dark shadow.

"Have you ever dealt with it before?" Baekhyun asked, taking a sip from his warm tea. 

Kyungsoo hummed as he thought back to when he had moved countries.

"I have. After I moved to New York. There were many spirits that had come to me for help. Then just like what happened to you, It just appeared one day."

"Did it hurt you?" Kyungsoo nodded.

"Not badly but I had gotten thrown to a wall once or twice but I always had someone who gave me strength."

Kyungsoo smiled. Baekhyun had smiled as well, thinking of Chanyeol.

Maybe Chanyeol can be my strength through this.

"How did you get rid of the spirit?" 

"Well, all you really have to do is face it with no fear." Kyungsoo simply answered.

"The spirit attacks when you're vulnerable. It's easier that way since it feeds off your fear." Baekhyun nodded, taking in the information he was giving.

"Because of your strong soul, they won't give up on you. That's what they want the most, to become stronger and that's why you need to beat that spirit."

Baekhyun nodded. "I'll try my best." Kyungsoo smiled, taking a sip from his tea. 

"Good."

"Now, tell me about you. How have you been spending these years without me?" Kyungsoo smiled, sitting comfortable and facing Baekhyun.

Baekhyun chuckled as he began to tell Kyungsoo about the things he had missed while he lived in New York.

"I'm glad you're doing well. I'm sorry for not contacting you while I was away." Kyungsoo frowned. 

"It's alright. I'm just happy you're here now."

The two lightly laughed as they continued their talk, taking sips of their tea.

"Is that a wedding ring?" Baekhyun froze when he saw the silver band on one of Kyungsoo's fingers.

"Oh, yes. I'm actually engaged." The boy smiled, holding up his hand to show off the beautiful ring.

"Soo! You're getting married!?" Baekhyun smiled widely at his best friend. 

"Next month actually. His name is Jongin. We met at the building I work in."

Kyungsoo smiled as he put the mug on the coffee table. 

"I work at an entertainment building and he's a backup dancer. We had bumped into one another and just.. Clicked."

Baekhyun cooed as he lightly pinched the boy's cheeks, only to get his hand slapped away.

"So you told him?" Kyungsoo nodded. 

"I was very nervous at first. I told him about three months after we started dating. I was falling in love so much I just wanted to tell him, before I fall even deeper." Kyungsoo smiled as he continued.

"We met up and I just told him directly. I see ghosts. He was shocked and confused but I told him more about and he understood. He was a bit scared too but I told him I would protect him and make sure he stays safe so, he stayed."
