Chapter Six

The meadow above⬆⤴

Angeline's POV:

I woke up with something heavy around my waist. I tried to prop myself up on my elbow, but was pulled back down and held tightly. I looked back and saw Xander and remembered that I crawled in bed with him because of the super scary dream. I wiggled out from his grip and padded off to his bathroom.

When I got there I looked in the mirror and saw what looked like myself but, wasn't. I saw red tear streaks going down my porcelain cheeks. I also saw what looked like dark circles under my eyes. What puzzled me is that I don't remember crying when I was asleep. I shrugged my shoulders and fixed my hair, then walked out of the bathroom to find Xander ....stretching....SHIRTLESS. Oh my god do his abs look good, wait, what where did that come from.

He saw me staring and chuckled then said "You can keep checking me out, I'm all yours" I felt a blush creep onto my face. He laughed and went into the closet and put on a shirt. Me and him knew each other well already. I hesitated but then asked " Can I hangout with your wolf today?" He replied "Yeah, just let me take a shower first" I nodded and sat down on the bed. He walked into the bathroom and a few minutes later I heard the water running.

I was fiddling with the duvet when he came out dressed and ready. I went to my room real quick and grabbed a white shirt and red shorts. I changed and we both walked down to the living room. We went outside and into a deeper part of the woods. I heard him say " I'm going to shift behind that tree" I nodded and he went behind a big oak tree. A few seconds later a big white wolf came from behind the tree.

I gasped and he padded over to me and nudged my hand with his head. I softly stroked the beautiful fur on his head and he made a weird purring noise. I told him "I'm going to shift now" He sat down and I took that as a yes. I went behind the same tree and shifted, I came out shyly and when he saw me he had a wolfly grin on his face.

I yipped and then ran towards the area with the meadow. He chased me and soon we came to the meadow. I came across this meadow when I was going for a run. Xander and I were chasing each other around the meadow. We both came to a stop and we were both panting and he had a wolfish grin on his face with his tongue lolling out of the side of his mouth.

I was about to start another game of chase when I felt a searing pain in my side. I howled in agony, and I saw Xander growl then go after something. I saw him kill the man that had shot me. Then another wave of pain washed through me, I howled again and Xander came back in his human form. He asked me to shift back into a human, so I did.

What I saw was not pretty. My side was bleeding out, soaking my white shirt that Xander had put over me after he pulled the arrow I had been shot with out. I lifted up my shirt and saw a purplish, bluish bruise like thing spread over my lower side. I felt tears roll off my cheeks and felt Xander wipe them away with the pads of his thumbs. I knew that the arrow had been dipped in Devilfire poison because I was having trouble breathing and also because of the bruise.

I tried telling Xander "Have... to ... get... to ... Lucy... Devilfire...poison." He let out a breath that he seemed to be holding. I felt him lift me up and with all the pain I faded into darkness. Then...
