I look at myself in the mirror. You can't really see the bruises on my arm. So that's good. I sigh, at least he left early so I can wake up in peace. Kind of. I get ready and grab my backpack and my keys. I see Gabe sitting on the couch watching sponge bob eating cereal. I smile at that, I tell him to go get his backpack and shoes. I put the shoes on him and I take his hand and lead him outside to my car.
"Are you okay, Shay?" He asked looking at me from beside me.
I smile softly, "I'm alright Gabe, don't worry." I said. I drive out of the driveway and head towards the elementary school. I drop Gabe off and I head towards my high school.
I park my car before getting out of my car and head towards the entrance. As I enter people look my way with wide eyes. I smile inwardly as I see their fear. I go to my locker and put my stuff up and get my text book out. I head towards my homeroom. As I walk towards my classroom, I see the bitch Veronica towering over someone. I hated her since the day she asked me if I could tryout for cheer. Right, like I would wear some slutty uniform, jumping around in it. I look to see who she's towering over, and I see Natalie picking up some of her books that spilled out while fixing her glasses.
I had some classes with her. Natalie was nice, despite my reputation she was kind to me. She's really smart so she always gets teased by it. I hated it when they did that. I was always nice to her too, because she wasn't like Veronica. Bitchy, moody, caked face. Typical slut.
I walk over to Veronica calmly where she was saying something along of, nerd and duck? I can't tell with her obnoxious smacking of her gum. I shove her aside, effectively making her fall down. I pick some of Natalie's books and hand it to her.
"Bitch!" She screeches.
"Oh I'm sorry I didn't see you there." I say mockingly.
"Ugh, like oh em gee, that's so rude you know. Like you almost ripp-"
"I don't care. It's a joke, not a dick. Don't take it so hard."
I smile sarcastically before turning around to a crouching Natalie.
"What class do you have next?" I asked her.
"Physics."
"We have the same class together, wanna walk there together?" I asked her.
She smiles and respond with a quick, 'sure'. We turn around and head towards our class. When I pass by Veronica I ram my shoulder against hers so she stumbles a little. I hear a little shriek as she stumbles against a locker. I smirk.
"Thanks for standing up for me." Natalie said appreciatively.
"No problem. Veronica's a bitch." I said.
She laughs and we enter our classroom. I sit in the back while she sits next to me. The teacher starts the lesson and I stare off into the distance.
Suddenly the door opens and a guy walks in holding a slip of paper. The teacher nods his head before saying something.
"Alright class, this is Logan Davidson. He's going to be in our class for the rest of the year. Would you like to introduce yourself Mr. Davidson?" The teacher asks him. The dude nods his head.
"I'm Logan, and I used to live in Florida. I love all kinds of sports and dogs." He winks at one of the girl who was sitting in the front row. I can practically hear all of the girls sigh except for me and Natalie since she's so focused on taking notes.
"Okay, you can sit next to Ms. Whiteley. Please raise your hand." He says. I sigh, I raise my hand lazily. He walks over and sits down next to me.
"Hey." He says next to me.
