Logan's POV
I rub my eyes as I sit up groggily. I'm still at the hospital in these uncomfortable chairs which is really getting on my nerves right now. I look at the nurse who woke me up.
"Yes?" I ask her hoarsely, still half asleep.
"Are you the one who brought the girl in?" She asks me kindly. I immediately wake up and sit up straight.
"Yeah, is she okay?"
"She just got out of surgery but she's fine now. Are you related to her or-" I cut her off before she finishes her sentence.
"No but he's her brother." I say motioning to Gabe, who's still soundly asleep.
"Oh, is her parents here?" She asks me. I shake my head, I haven't even met her parents.
"Can I see her?" I blurt out quickly.
"I'm sorry but only family members are allowed to see her." She says shaking her head apologetically.
"But," I try to think of an excuse but I can't seem to think of anything. "Uh uh, she's my girlfriend!" I blurt out. She looks at me with sympathetic eyes. She sighs.
"This is against protocol but you can go see her, just don't get caught. She's in room 103." She tells me quickly and walks away. I shake Gabe and he wakes up eyes still puffy from crying.
"Is she okay?" He asks.
"Yeah she's alright, let's go and visit her okay?" I say putting my hand out. He takes it and I look at all of the room numbers. Thankfully her room is on the first floor, so it's pretty close.
I see the room 103 and I quietly open the door and peek in checking if there's any doctors in there. When I see that no one is there I open the door fully and usher Gabe in close the door. When I look back I see Shay looking at me with an amused look. I quickly walk over to her and hug her, burying my face into her hair. Soon Gabe jumps onto the bed and join the hug.
"Whoa calm down guys, I'm not dead yet." She says in a hoarse voice. I hand her water that was on the bedside table.
"Don't say that I thought you weren't going to make it." She just laughs and wave it off. She motions Gabe over and pat the place beside her, where Gabe happily sits on.
"How's it going buddy, did you get hurt?" She asks with a concern look.
"No. Logan came and saved you." He says pointing at me.
"He did? How?" She asks still looking at Gabe.
"He called me." I answer her question. She looks at me confused.
"I don't remember having your number." She say, scrunching up her nose.
"I gave it to Gabe since you wouldn't take it." I answer.
"What happened to you?" I ask staring at her. She stares back.
"I'll tell you later. I promise." She says finally.
"Pinky promise?" I ask her smirking. She looks at me with raising her eyebrows.
"Really?" She asks me, I hold my pinky up. She sighs and leans toward me and hook her pinky on mine.
"Pinky promise." She says looking at me directly.
"Good." I say smirking. Gabe's stomach suddenly growls and Shay laughs looking at her brother.
Suddenly the door opens and a doctor comes in. He looks at us and glares at me.
"You're not suppose to be here." He says in an authority voice.
"Well I was just visiting my very injured girlfriend." I say nonchalantly. Shay look at me confused and I look back with my 'just go along with it' look. She nods her head a little.
"Well unless you are related to her, I'm going to have to call security."
"I was going to leave anyways." I say and turn back to Shay and Gabe.
"I'm going to McDonald's do you want anything?" I ask.
"Yeah just get Gabe a happy meal and a cheeseburger for me This place food sucks." Shay says disgustingly.
"Okay. See you in a bit." I say and get out of the room.
"You're not allowed to give food from outside the hospital to patients!" The doctor yells from behind me, I just wave my hand and leave the hospital.
---
I went to IHOP after I went to church. And there was an obvious sign that said "Pull". But me being the dumbass I am, tried to push it thus causing me to run into the door. The people in there were so surprised like, "How the hell did you manage to do that?" I ask myself that everyday.
