I'm so sorry! It's been so LONG since I've updated, but school has been CRAZY. I have hardly any freetime any more. And now, when I finally DO update, it's really short. This is more of a transition chapter than anything, to be honest. I hope you like it anyway...

Autumn’s POV

Things happened.

And no, for all you pervert out there, I do not mean those kinds of things. But I suppose it led to the same kind of thing.

That night was a very long night consisting of me crying my eyes out with all my guilt and spilling all my problems to Trey, including the ones involving that idiot who was technically my mate. I don’t consider him my mate anymore though. Not even my friend. I don’t give a damn what the spirits had planned for us, I can’t deal with that bastard anymore. He is my Alpha, and that is all.

Apparently, after I went missing, Zack made his way to my house, somehow managed to punch my older brother unconscious, and then locked himself up in his room. Trey, in the mean time, was trying to get Alpha Gregor to send a search party after me, since there wasn’t much he could do to find me on his own without the mate connection that would have given Zack the upper hand.

So, now, after that very long night, Trey and I were an item. It was about time too, seen as I had been pining after him for years. At least that proves that he isn’t some sort of rebound to me. We have a mutual agreement, that, when he finds his mate, I won’t hold it against him, and he won’t hate me for anything that might grow between Zack and I. I did tell him that absolutely NOTHING would be happening there ever again, but he still seemed doubtful.

And now would be the time to tell people.

It’s not like we’re getting married or anything, but, technically, we should still be reporting it to the pack. Usually it would be a means for congradulations…

No one would be happy about it (that is, excluding Eric, Devon, Katrina, Trey and I). It wasn’t traditional in our pack for two people who weren’t mates to be involved in any way above friendship, not to mention when one of them already had their mate. Rejecting your mate was frowned upon, and that is exactly what I was doing. In reality, Zack hadn’t rejected me, not really. He had neglected me, and pushed me to the side, but he had never denied that I was his mate.

The first was Katrina. I sent her a text saying a needed to talk to her, her reply was typical and as bubbly as ever. She, at least, would be happy for us.

“Come on babe,” Trey says, taking my hand like we had been doing it all our lives, “Smile a little. It’s a good thing, after all.”

“I guess I’m just a little nervous.” I confide with a shaky laugh, swinging our hands between us. He smoothes a stand of hair behind my ear, smiling reassuringly.

“She wants to meet us at the mall,” I tell him, grinning brightly as he groans in protest.

“Come on! You know I hate that place! In fact, you hate that place too!”

“Yes,” I agree, “But the pain I must inflict on myself is worth it, just to see your face!” Trey scowls at me as I drag him outside, trying to jog with his weight opposing me and failing miserably. “Trey,” I scorn, “Stop being a lazy ass and hurry up. I want to tell Katrina before the pack meeting.” I shiver. “I can just imagine what she would be like if I don’t tell her before every one else…Scary…” Trey laughs, jogging besides me. One of the reasons I first got a crush on Trey was because he was the only person in the pack who could keep up with me when I was running.
