We are already at Of Closures, with all its drama~
____________________________________They danced, all night long, all through Namjoon's mini concert, all through Taehyung's failed attempt at being subtle while taking pictures of them, all through everything.
Then as others began to slowly leave the place they decided to sit outside, enjoying the lazy, washed out winter sunrise, huddled in their coats on a nearby bench.
'Hey brat.' Jimin said as the first rays broke through the early morning fog.
'What?' Jungkook asked, smiling because he couldn't help it.
'I had fun.' Jimin said softly, almost inaudibly.
'Yeah, me too.' Jungkook said in an equally soft voice, not daring to look at Jimin.
'Tonight we have one more party to attend.' Jimin noted. 'I hope you got your present ready, because Jin-hyung will readily bury you somewhere around here if you didn't. '
'Yeah, of course.' Jungkook chuckled. 'I would never follow in your steps, I heard about everything from Hoseok-hyung.'
'Such blatant disrespect...When will you ever say anything nice about me?' Jimin huffed, his voice rising in annoyment even though he was fighting a smile.
'Well... you would drink a round with anyone who asked.' Jungkook grinned, earning a hit to his arms. Familiar. Good.
'Ah, the sounds of friendship so early in the morning. It's enough to bring tears to my eyes.' Taehyung said, appearing out of nowhere to throw an arm around their shoulders.
'Tae, we are talking here.'
'Exactly. So boring. You should be mapping out each other in a neat bed or some-' Taehyung 's voice cut off as Jimin slapped a hand firmly against his mouth.
'God, why am I friends with you again?' Jimin grimaced, glancing at Jungkook as his ears reddened.
Jungkook was sure his were in the process too.
'We are not.' Taehyung confirmed, prying away Jimin's fingers. 'We are bestest buds forever and ever.'
'...just go away.'
Jungkook laughed hard as Taehyung tried to smother Jimin with a hug and he tried to fight back with all his might. They went back to their room after that, trying to sleep off the party, but the news about Hoseok and Yoongi were quick to go around – how the both of them were worse for wear, and that Taehyung would bring Yoongi back home before their party.
It was an absolute mess, and even though they could guess what had happened, no one really knew what exactly went down between the two of them.'Hoseok is a mess.' Namjoon sighed as they sat around their room that night.
'He cleaned up our room at least three times and tried to tell me nothing as wrong.' Jimin nodded.
Hoseok really tried to sell that to them, but Namjoon simply sat him down and they talked for hours. Then they all walked him to the bus station and sent him home, with his luggage and a sad copy of his smile.
'Idiots.' Jin sighed, handing out their juices and the light snacks he made – Christmas party all but down the drain. 'We will have to do something about this mess, but first...'
With that he picked up the presents the others couldn't give out and handed them all out with a smile and the witty but kind words written on the cards.
Jimin and Namjoon opened theirs and while the older rolled back on his bed with a loud laugh, Jimin just stared at his with a scandalized expression, ears turning red as he shut the box close and refused to show anyone what it was.
'Taehyung.' was all he said.
Jungkook gave his gift to Jin, the other sighing theatrically that all his plans were in ruins because he was receiving their maknae's love instead of Jimin...Until he opened the box, because then he began to coo.
It was embarrassing enough that Jungkook ducked away from his embrace. There was no need, he just brought him a few plays on DVD that he wanted to see and the theater department was kind enough to get him and a new apron that advertised "Shoulder Mom".
Then it was Jimin's turn and he handed his present over to Jungkook without looking at him.
'Merry Christmas, Jungkook.' he mumbled.
'What? Not brat or rascal?' Jungkook joked, poking him.
'I will take it back.' Jimin snapped, reaching over to snatch it back but Jungkook was quicker to lift it out of reach, and the older nearly fell against him in the ordeal.
'Thanks.' Jungkook grinned at Jimin, who was finally facing him in a weird sort of balance game but Jimin just made a quick retreat in answer.
'Aw, so sweet.' Jin chuckled. 'Aren't they, Namjoon?'
'Disgustingly so.' Namjoon smirked.
While Jimin tried to save his dignity, Jungkook began to open up the carefully wrapped present, biting back a grin as he finally saw what it was.
'Thank you, hyung.' he said and the noise died down as Jungkook lifted the snapback out of the papers. 'I thought you wouldn't remember.'
'You prattled on about this snapback for hours during practice of course I would know.' Jimin waved him off.
It was not true, Jungkook only mentioned it once, back in November, but he decided not to deal another blow to his crafted nonchalance.
'This is also a bit different.' Jimin pointed out, reaching over to show Jungkook the inside of it.
The one who never gives up. (that's you, you brat)
It was written neatly into the snapback with curvy golden letters and Jungkook smiled widely.
'It's awesome!' Jungkook exclaimed, giving Jimin a one armed hug as he put on the snapback. 'Thanks, Jimin-hyung.'
'Calling me hyung voluntarily... I can take that you like it?' Jimin mumbled, tentatively putting an arm around Jungkook too.
'Of course you can. Look at the kid's smile.' Namjoon laughed and they all spent their too small party smiling, stuffing themselves with Jin's cooking and consulting with Taehyung as soon as he made sure that Yoongi was back home in one piece.
