Happy V-Day everyone!
Long chapter ahead, I hope you are prepared~ ;)
___________________________'I love you.'
There were no heartfelt words, no big confessions, nothing artificial or perfect. He just bared his heart in those three little words while he cried under the night sky of the city in Namjoon's arms.
'Tae...'
Was it here? The end of everything? The time when he would be pushed away?
'I know.' Namjoon whispered, hugging Taehyung tighter and as the words hit him, he became absolutely still.
'You... know?' he asked, voice hoarse from his tears.
'I've been nearly sure... since that night in the Room.' Namjoon whispered, pulling back so he could look Taehyung in the eyes.
'But...' Taehyung tried to find words, but he was unable to.
His mind went completely blank.
'Your eyes... They have always been the most honest.' Namjoon explained, holding onto Taehyung's hands as if afraid he would escape. 'I just didn't know what to do, that's why I didn't say anything. But I've been thinking a lot about this Tae.'
He'd known, and he'd been thinking about it... He was still there, he was not pushing him away...But what was happening then?
'Let me explain okay?' Namjoon asked and Taehyung could just nod, because he needed that explanation.
He needed to hear how it would end.
'I know it sounds bad, but first I had to step over the fact that you are a guy...' Namjoon began, searching Taehyung's gaze.
But Taehyung already knew that was one of the biggest problems in the whole situation... He was not hurt by that.
'And I had to know if I could just see you. Not a guy but you, Kim Taehyung, my quirky, amazing friend with a beautiful heart.' Namjoon said softly. 'So I've been trying out things, seeing how it would feel to date you, to be around you and to just be myself next to you.'
Taehyung finally understood what exactly shifted in their relationship back then... Yet he was dreading the conclusion and felt his fingers shake in Namjoon's hold.
'I didn't say anything because I didn't figure out everything about my feelings and... And I even thought that maybe you don't want to have anything to do with me after all since I'll leave soon ...' Namjoon whispered, biting his lip as his eyes traced the lines of tears on Taehyung's cheeks. 'I never knew it hurt you this much. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry that I hurt you.'
'Hyung...' Taehyung whispered, finding his voice but it was rough from emotions. 'I've been in love with you for the past two years. I want to have everything to do with you.'
Namjoon's cheeks colored from the confession and looked at Taehyung in wonder.
'And please don't apologize, you didn't know...' he smiled weakly, because he did. 'You didn't know everything.'
'But I have to apologize again Tae...' Namjoon sighed.
Here it was.
The end of his misery.
Taehyung was holding his breath, dreading, fearing, hoping...
'Because I have to ask you to wait for me a bit longer.'
'What?' Taehyung breathed, feeling as if tons got lifted off of him.
'I like you Tae, I really do. You are amazing, funny, caring and absolutely sweet...' Namjoon smiled, lacing their fingers together and warmth began to return to Taehyung's dread filled heart. 'You are someone who can balance me out, someone who can inspire me, someone who can make me smile.'
Those words mended the void in him, closing up old wounds and healing the new ones that were caused by his stubbornness.
'And I want to try this. But I am not ready yet to... to. You know.' Namjoon blushed and if that was not the most heart warming sight then Taehyung did not know what was.
And of course he knew what troubled his hyung and he was just so glad, because Namjoon was trying for him instead of closing his heart like so many did before...
'So I have to ask you to wait for me till I can give you my all...' Namjoon finished with a gentle smile and Taehyung smiled back because he could wait.
For Namjoon it was worth it.
'Your eyes are absolutely amazing.' Namjoon whispered. 'You don't even have to say a word.'
'I think you just know how to read them.' Taehyung chuckled.
'Took me long enough to figure it out...' Namjoon smiled.
Then they just gazed at each other as they both tired to understand this new situation where feelings were laid bare, where new possibilities opened up...
Where that amazing guy kneeling in front of him in a nameless park, in the most ordinary district of the city could become his...
And maybe waiting was what made it all possible...
Taehyung could not even begin to name the feelings that ran through him.
'And just what is the line for now?' he asked with a shy smile.
Namjoon's answer was a kiss to his cheek and he leaned up to rest his forehead against Taehyung's. 'For now.'
'Okay.' Taehyung sighed, content as butterflies danced in his every fiber along the rhythm of his heartbeat.
'Hey.'
'Hmm?'
'Do you know why I was so surprised when I saw you today?' Namjoon asked, leaning back a bit.
'No.' Taehyung said and Namjoon released one of his hands to pat his red Converse.
'This is a silly thing, but means a lot to me.' Namjoon smiled. 'Because love walked out on me in these shoes, so if it would ever find me again then they should wear the same thing...'
'I think I might look better in them though.' Taehyung grinned, his heart skipping several beats and Namjoon grinned back at him.
'You do.' his hyung whispered, standing up and pulled Taehyung up with him too. 'I would love to stay here with you for the rest of the night, but you have a very important play tomorrow...' Namjoon said with a sigh.
'I don't want to leave your side though.' Taehyung pouted.
Namjoon chuckled at that, ruffling his hair up affectionately and Taehyung couldn't maintain his pout in the face of that gesture, smiling at Namjoon in absolute happiness.
'I promised Yoongi-hyung that I would bring you back safe and sound.' Namjoon smiled. 'And I know for fact that you wouldn't sleep a blink anyway else.'
'Why do you all know me so well? It used to be my thing...' Taehyung shook his head and they left the park with Namjoon's laugh echoing through it.
And Taehyung thought he might just be flying as they made their way back towards the dorms, because he could hold Namjoon's hand and smile at him without anything to hide.
'Can I ask you something?' Namjoon nudged his shoulder as he pulled him closer by their joined hands. 'I have many things to ask actually, but this is something that wouldn't leave me alone since you mentioned it.'
'Of course.'
'Emptiness... Was it because of me?' he asked with a voice full of guilt and Taehyung squeezed his fingers reassuringly.
'No. But these feelings I have for you helped me realize that the way I led my life was empty... It's complicated... But will you watch me tomorrow night?'
'I wouldn't miss it now that I know where to look.' Namjoon smiled, eyes searching Taehyung's.
'Then you will understand it completely.' Taehyung smiled back, blush dusting his cheeks.
'Okay.' Namjoon nodded, leading him up the stairs.
They walked quietly, carefully, just like how they stepped into their relationship and Taehyung couldn't even imagine it anymore what it felt like to be without it...
'Will you be okay?' Namjoon asked, stopping in front of Taehyung's room.
'With you having my heart or with you stealing my breath?' Taehyung asked back, laughing quietly as Namjoon rolled his eyes at him fondly with a faint blush.
'With me leaving.' he said. 'With a long-distance relationship, when you've waited two years already... For me. Why would you even...' Namjoon shook his head in disbelief.
'Now I will be.' Taehyung smiled at Namjoon, leaning up to press a kiss to his nose. 'Because I know when you borrow things you are not returning them, so I think my heart is in a good place.'
'How can you even come up with things like that... And for your information I do give back the stuff I borrow. Well sometimes.' Namjoon chuckled. 'But I think I will keep this one for myself and you can have mine in return.'
'I think I can agree to these conditions.' Taehyung grinned, heart fluttering as Namjoon kissed his forehead, whispering goodnight and walked backwards until he reached the door to the stairs.
'Well aren't you just sweet.' Yoongi grumbled from his pillows as Taehyung closed the door after himself. 'I would question you, but Jin-hyung will skin me if you don't get your beauty sleep... So spill. What happened?'
'Hyung, I think I'm dreaming.' Taehyung sighed, happy and content and tried to pour everything he felt into words as Yoongi watched on with a soft smile of his own.
It was a tradition that the actors spent the day of the premiere together, getting into character and going through the key parts again. But with Jin jumping around like a puppy and dancing around the rehearsal room with Taehyung promptly made getting into character fail for the first couple of hours.
Not to mention the time when Hoseok called him, and he had a messy, awkwardly adorable talk with him and the Jimin-Jungkook duo...
But they were professionals, sometimes, and after lunch Jin just told him that he would want all the details later and began to prepare seriously.
And Taehyung did the same, motivated to show his very best to Namjoon. To bare his essence, his very core and his darkest parts on the stage.
So when the lime light fell on the stage, Namjoon's music and Hoseok's choreography coming alive in the first scene, he was prepared to be the very best.
He danced to seduce, to tempt, to captivate and revealed the real ugliness of the never ending flings and the soulless nature of sleeping around without names or faces.
He bared his heart, the void that still echoed in him and how loving someone changed all that.
He confessed as if they were back at the café, as if he was confessing to Namjoon again and as the stage rotated into darkness after the rejection he couldn't help but sigh in relief.
This was not his story anymore.
Taehyung was climbing up to the ledge in all white as the first act was nearing its climax, others hitting rock bottom too as the lime light dissected their personal tragedies one after another.
He stood up as that very light fell on him, turning his back to the ledge and gazed up.
'I've always wanted to see this sky last.'
With that he fell backwards, splashing into the water filled tank that was so carefully constructed for him.
He heard the shocked gasps of the audience, but the water closed out the sounds around him and he couldn't help but smile in the darkness that embraced him. Because he was saved from this fate by his friends, by Namjoon.
'Good work.' the director praised them as they moved around for the next act during the break, Taehyung hurrying to dry himself for his hospital scenes.
He was drying his hair and fixing his makeup as the door to his dressing room burst open and he was engulfed in a hug from behind.
'I understand.'
'Hyung...' Taehyung whispered as Namjoon turned him around slowly, gaze searching and he cupped his face gently.
'You hid all that inside you?'
'I did, and I didn't even know it... But not anymore. Never again.' Taehyung smiled.
'You are amazingly strong.' Namjoon smiled back. 'Amazing.'
'I have amazing friends.' Taehyung chuckled.
Namjoon rested his forehead against Taehyung's and they stayed like that until it was time to act again.
They were preparing for the inevitable departure together, packing, planning and figuring out how to keep in contact in this new situation.
And they talked all the while, staying together every minute they could to share more, to know more, to feel more.
The others helped through all that, their constant teasing, joking and heartfelt but never completely serious chats lightening the mood.
Then May arrived, paperwork was filled out and boxes were packed to be sent over to another continent.
They held the quietest party ever, goodbye ending in past stories, laughter and tears.
Then Namjoon left to spend a few days with his family before they all met up again at the airport.
'I guess it's goodbye then.' Namjoon said, awkward in the ring of his friends.
'You really at this, hyung.' Jungkook noted with chuckle.
'Yeah, but it's not like we won't talk – so don't pull anything cheesy on us now.' Jimin smiled, but he was fighting tears and Jungkook hugged him to his side.
'I will miss my only sane companion.' Yoongi grinned, ruffling Namjoon's hair up.
'You mean the only other person capable of sitting in a studio for days? I would not call that sane.' Hoseok chuckled, earning a playful hit from both his boyfriend and his best friend. 'I will miss you too, Namjoon.'
'I never told you, but you are my kid too.' Jin sniffed, hugging Namjoon. 'My most precious roommate.'
'I thought I was the grandfather of the family.' Namjoon laughed hugging Jin back with one arm, the other was holding onto Taehyung firmly.
'I think the relationships in this family are already messed up enough – so why not.' Taehyung grinned, making them chuckle.
'I will call, text and update things regularly. Don't worry.' Namjoon smiled, getting out of Jin's embrace to face Taehyung. 'And I will do my best like I promised.'
In studying, in work and in love.
Taehyung knew he would.
Namjoon pressed a kiss to Taehyung's cheek, hugged him tightly then began to walk away – but Taehyung was not crying, he was smiling because he knew everything would be okay.
Then he stopped mid-wave in surprise as Namjoon turned around abruptly, and before he could even process it he was already back in front of him, cupping his cheeks.
'For now.' Namjoon said, voice deliciously rough, and leaned in to kiss Taehyung, to kiss him properly on his lips for the first time ever.
It was not his first kiss - in fact he should be ashamed just how many different people he'd kissed - but in that instant he knew for sure that kissing Namjoon was everything he'd ever wanted and became all that mattered to him as he moved his lips harder, wanting more.
To never let him go.
All too eagerly, Namjoon pressed back and Taehyung didn't mind letting his hyung take charge, in fact he loved it, and his heart went out of commission along his thoughts as his hyung's warm hands lingered on his face for a few more moments then one slowly drifted to his neck and the other to his waist, pulling him in for more.
The sound that left his lips did not sound like him at all, but it encouraged Namjoon to deepen the kiss as he held on for dear life.
Then they had to break away for air and Taehyung was dizzy from the sheer want that rushed through him as those dark eyes bored into his.
Then they both seemed to realize that they were still at the airport.
Surrounded by their friends.
And gaping strangers.
Taehyung laughed heartily at Namjoon's blush.
'For now.' Namjoon repeated quietly as the chorus of cat calls and Taehyung's worthy remarks flew at them.
'For now.' Taehyung agreed, pressing a parting peck to Namjoon's lips – then it was really time to say goodbye.
They talked every other day, distance not mattering as they opened up to each other through late night calls and video chatting.
Namjoon told him about his new life in New Zealand, his fears, his hopes, his growing feelings for Taehyung and he in turn told him about his past, his present and every little thing he loved about Namjoon.
His hyung told him he was his muse, the best change in his life.
He told him he was his first true love, the only change he ever needed in his life.
But nothing was always serious, not when they greeted good morning and goodnight everyday with silly pictures and short videos. Or when they went on video-dates or took a walk together as they narrated every little thing they saw.
Taehyung would never fail to update Namjoon about the others either, sending pictures about a sleeping Yoongi, Hoseok's smile, Jimin's smitten face, Jungkook's ever developing muscles and Jin's shoulders – that or videos of their antics.
And there were always the group chats, noisy and embarrassing and Taehyung loved to tease his hyung as much as he loved to tease the others.
Sometimes teasing turned into something more, like when he told his hyung during October that he loved his voice and Namjoon turned it into a game where Taehyung was left breathless from want and his hyung revealed he felt like that too... Who ever said that telephone could not be satisfying?
And maybe there were a bit more texts filled with ual innuendos and provocative descriptions after that...
Sadly Namjoon couldn't come back for Chuseok and seemed like he wouldn't make it back for Christmas either, because it was expensive and he had to work hard and Taehyung might have whined to Jimin for hours about how much he missed him.
And maybe to Hoseok too... So Jungkook took him out for a run then and Yoongi drove around with him afterwards. Jin's dinner waited for them all that night.
But despite the hard periods he was thankful that he had someone to love — someone who also loved him back.
Because when he met that one butterfly during a November night, he could proudly tell him that he was already taken and they shared a smile, a silent wish of good luck, before their lives separated again.
And staying positive was his specialty anyway.
Then during December there were things happening he was suspicious of, but everyone tried to act like there was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.
Like when both Jimin and Jungkook took up part-time jobs – saying they were just trying new things out. Or when Yoongi and Hoseok took up more hours at the café – Hoseok telling him not to worry his pretty head over it and Yoongi just waved him off.
Then Jin spent an awful lot of time convincing him to come back to Seoul for the last days of the year because they've never celebrated his birthday together before.
And there was Namjoon, smiling mysteriously.
He knew they were planning something big, and left them to do it without remarks because they were cute when they thought they were being sneaky.
And he also hoped he was right about his guess.
He climbed the stairs to the upper most floor on the day of his birthday with excited and nervous steps, hiding his smile into his scarf as Jin reassured him through the phone that they were so not preparing a surprise.
The Room waited for him like every time he came to play before, like every time something big happened in their lives. Like when Jimin first heard Jungkook singing, when Yoongi met Hoseok for the first time, when Namjoon realized Taehyung's feelings for him...
He opened the door, only for his beanie to be immediately pulled over his eyes.
'I'm not easily scared by things like that.' he chuckled, his heart already telling him who it was.
There was no answer just a finger that brushed against the side of his mouth in a soft caress and he smiled as that finger drew a trail against his lips.
Taehyung's heart was racing as he felt a soft chuckle against his lips.
'I tried to go for a surprise actually.' Namjoon said, kissing him gently and pulled off Taehyung's beanie as he pulled him closer, fingers running through his hair.
Taehyung ed against Namjoon's lips because it had been too damn long, but pulled back because he had to see Namjoon. Finally there in his arms.
'I don't think this is the standard way people greet each other after months of separation.' Taehyung grinned, because his hyung was really there, flushed from the kiss and his eyes sharp and mesmerizing as they bored into his.
'I don't think that's what you should be saying to your boyfriend after all the trouble he went through to arrive here on time.' Namjoon rolled his eyes.
'Why, hello then.' Taehyung giggled. 'When did you arrive anyway?'
'Two hours ago.' Namjoon grinned as Taehyung blinked up at him in surprise. 'You would think the others have a knack for planning, but I tell you they don't. They also wouldn't believe me when I told them that you've probably figured them out even before they bought the ticket... You are my boyfriend for a reason after all.'
'They don't appreciate my genius.' Taehyung chuckled, shaking his head fondly because the others really worked hard to smuggle Namjoon there for him in time.
'Happy Birthday.' Namjoon smiled, and Taehyung melted because it was so much better to see it in person.
'You are probably the best present I've ever received... Well, right after my car.' Taehyung grinned and Namjoon pinched his nose in turn. 'Rude!'
'As usual.' Namjoon sighed exasperatedly. 'I hope you were not too cold without my rudeness.' his hyung chuckled, lacing their fingers together.
'I was, but I think we will find a good compromise...' Taehyung grinned and Namjoon leaned in to kiss him again, and again, and again, unable to stop as each kiss became deeper, hotter, needier.
And Taehyung was overflowing with love and devotion in a way he couldn't contain, not when he got a taste of what he wanted, not when Namjoon's hands found their way under his coat, pulling him closer in pure need, not when his hyung groaned against his lips as he tugged on his hair.
'Ah...' Taehyung gasped as his lips were released in favor of the soft kisses pressed against his neck, his scarf quickly finding its way to the floor. 'Namjoon...'
His hyung shuddered, pulling back ever so slightly. 'Say that again.' he breathed against his neck and the roughness of his voice burned a hot trail down his spine.
'Namjoon.' Taehyung whispered hotly, his grip on Namjoon's hair tightening as his hyung attacked his neck with fervor.
And they were stumbling backwards, Taehyung disposing of their coats quickly, experience taking over because he was not thinking anymore as passionate marks were against his collarbone.
They fell in a graceless chaos of kisses and sounds onto the bed, Taehyung gazing up as his hyung leaned over him with his hands on either side of his head.
'You are really beautiful, you know.' Namjoon whispered, voice deep and rough and wonderful and Taehyung bit his lower lip to keep a at bay.
'Is it time for cheesy confessions, hyung?' he teased a breathy laughter leaving his lips.
'No, I just felt like telling you... But what's so funny?' Namjoon asked, leaning down to nip at his ear.
'It's just...' Taehyung grinned wildly. 'That here we are. I'm in your arms, and you kissed me again after so long, and...' his smile turned tender, hands waving around Namjoon's neck in a gentle embrace. 'And I love you so very much, Kim Namjoon.'
'Speaking of cheesy...' Namjoon chuckled, one arm sneaking under Taehyung to pull him closer. 'I'm just a bit fond of you too, Kim Taehyung... And I love you more then you can imagine.'
Taehyung's heart swelled and he kissed Namjoon with burning passion.
'Now that it's out of the way...' Taehyung teased to stop his tears of happiness from escaping. 'Can I ask what the line is right now?' he asked between kisses.
'No lines...' Namjoon whispered against his lips. 'I want you.'
The sheer power of that statement sent white hot pleasure through him and Taehyung would have gladly given up reason for instincts right then, but there was something else he had to know before that. 'There were rumors about you and Hoseok...'
'Yeah, but no.' Namjoon said, smiling against his lips. 'He told me he was not the one for me, so nothing serious happened... You will be my first, no matter how silly that sounds.'
'Okay.' Taehyung smiled and let go of reason then, into Namjoon's mouth with hunger, opening his shirt with deft fingers.
And his hands were running along his pecks, his shoulders and relished in the feeling of the groans that vibrated against his lips.
'I see you worked out...' he teased, voice husky from need and Namjoon shuddered against him.
'Quiet you.' he rasped, sounding hungry as he began to undress Taehyung too – quick and precise and intense as his hands mapped out his body and Taehyung rolled his hips up for every burning touch, ing unrestrained.
And Namjoon was grinding back against him more fervently in answer, and he could feel that his hyung was already hard against him.
'Can I?' Namjoon asked, fingers sneaking down the length of his chest, caressing, teasing, burning.
Taehyung could only make a noise somewhere between a hum and a growl, and Namjoon's hands were there, sliding the zipper down and teasing his length through the thin material of his boxer brief.
And he didn't dare close his eyes as pleasure exploded in him, his breath coming out even harder as he devoured Namjoon with his gaze, the way he looked at him, the way he moved against him, the way he touched him, scanning every inch of him like he was committing it to memory. And he was becoming desperate to get his hyung's clothes out of the way too, so he could finally feel skin against skin...
'Ah, Taehyung...' Namjoon ed as Taehyung made a quick work of his jeans, sliding his thumb over the head when he noticed that his boxers darkened with precum, his eyelids fluttering over his eyes and breath hitching...
Their eyes met, and there was only one thing sure in that breathless, charged moment.
More.
They were kicking away their clothes with graceless desperation then, meeting in a messy kiss and finally everything was skin on skin, heat against heat and they gasped in unison. Their mouths were wet and open, abandoning technique to make way for sheer desire as their tongues rolled and glided against one another.
In all honestly, Taehyung would have been perfectly fine coming like this. Skin all over skin, arousals growing slippery against one another, hips and mouths moving.
But he wanted everything...
'Namjoon... we... I... slow down, please.'
'Mm.' Namjoon hummed, flicking his tongue against his ear. 'But you feel so good against me.'
His face was probably flushed more than anyone had ever seen it because of that husky confession, but tried to desperately get the last of his sane thoughts together. 'But I want to feel you-' he gasped as Namjoon slipped his thumb over the head of his arousal experimentally so he breathed out the last words in a rush.
'Inside me.'
Namjoon exhaled and some sound came with it, a noise from deep in his chest that rumbled across his ear. 'If you say things like that I won't last another second.' he growled, voice heady from want and Taehyung shuddered under the force of it. 'But I've never done this before...'
'Let me guide you...'
The Room was never one to disappoint and Namjoon was quick to make good use of the lube, harassed little s trembling from Taehyung's lips because it was too much and never enough.
'Curl your fingers.' he ed, and cried out in absolute pleasure when Namjoon obeyed his request, arching against him, clutching the blanket with numbing force.
'You're gorgeous.' Namjoon whispered, voice raw from surprise and need, eyes blown as he was unable to look away from Taehyung.
And he gazed back up through his eyelashes, already beyond a sense of embarrassment as he moved to feel more of those sinfully talented fingers and pulled Namjoon down for a kiss, whispering a silent please against the kiss bruised lips.
A small smile played across Namjoon's lips then and Taehyung thought it might have even been a shy one.
Then Namjoon shifted, pulling him closer and Taehyung's heart was officially beating out of control.
He didn't think that anything on this Earth could prepare him for the next few moments, not for the moment Namjoon slid into him and not for the way that made him feel. Not when Namjoon's expression crumbled into pleasure, not when the first brought such a rasped from the both of them.
Then he was not thinking anymore, just feeling. Feeling as every trust, every move burned him up, as muscles moved beneath his hands, as tension built up in Namjoon's strong shoulders. Hearing his breath catch as he met his s... Taehyung was unthinkingly littering Namjoon's shoulder and neck with wet kisses, his mouth refusing to stay still between gasps and s and stolen kisses.
It was perfect.
This was perfection; all these sensations, all these noises, everything about this moment would be burned into Taehyung forever.
But one could only bear perfection for that long and Namjoon's hand slid across his jaw, behind his neck and the last cry of his pleasure was sealed against his lips, white hot release stealing his senses too.
He was breathing heavily as the world began to make sense again, warm wash of content pleasure flooding over his limbs as Namjoon rolled to his side and gazed down at him with a fond smile.
'Would it be absolutely horrible to say that it felt amazing?' he asked and Taehyung chuckled, raising a hand to caress his hyung's cheek.
'Only if you don't mean it.'
'Oh, but I do mean it.' Namjoon grinned, leaning down to press a kiss against his lips. 'You are...' another kiss. '...amazing.'
'Flattery will get you nowhere, Kim Namjoon.' Taehyung grinned.
'Gorgeous.' a kiss to his nose.
'Maybe it will...' Taehyung sighed.
'Wonderful.' Namjoon whispered, pressing one more kiss to his forehead before pulling him into a tight hug.
'Right back at you, hyung.' Taehyung mumbled, hugging back as tightly as he could.
'There is something else.' Namjoon said, nudging his cheek with his nose.
'Other then the fact that I came without touching?' Taehyung smirked.
'Jesus, Kim Taehyung...' Namjoon laughed. 'Tell me that in a few more minutes and we can do something about it.' he added in a much lower voice and Taehyung couldn't help the gasp that escaped him.
'Hyung, that sounds like a plan...' he breathed out.
'It is.' Namjoon said, detaching himself softly. 'But first, your present.' he smiled, rolling out of bed.
'The view is certainly appreciated.' Taehyung hummed, draping himself across the bed with a lazy chuckle as Namjoon danced silly until he got to his bag. 'But I thought you were my present.'
'Flattery you said?' Namjoon chuckled, sitting back on the bed. 'Give me your hand.'
'Are you gonna handcuff me now?' Taehyung grinned, wiggling his fingers.
'Be more serious about it.' Namjoon coughed, a deliciously hungry glint lighting in his eyes but his smile told Taehyung that this was about something entirely different. 'Now stay put.'
With that he slid a ring on Taehyung's finger and he could just blink at it in wonder, eyes following it as Namjoon pulled his hand against his mouth, pressing a kiss to his fingers.
'It's a promise ring.' Namjoon whispered, the dimples of his smile peeking out between Taehyung's fingers as the lazy winter sun lit that smile aglow.
Taehyung's breath hitched because he was sure he had never seen anything more beautiful.
'Because I promise that the distance won't stop me from loving you, that the next time I come back I will be a person more worthy of your love and that I will stay by your side no matter what.' Namjoon said, eyes tender and adoring. 'Will you still wait for me?'
'You know I will.' Taehyung said, choking on his feelings and he sat up to lean his forehead against Namjoon's. 'Always.'
Namjoon just smiled in answer, lacing their fingers together and they stayed like that for long minutes.
'Now that is out of the way...' Namjoon teased, using Taehyung's words. 'Let's shower before those idiots kick the door down.'
'Is this the plan you mentioned?' Taehyung asked back with a wide smile.
'Want it to be?' Namjoon asked back, eyes darkening dangerously as he pulled Taehyung closer.
'There are a few tricks worth showing.' he smirked, his lips.
'Show me then.'
