The running we were doing made my arm begin to bleed worse. I knew we had to get as far away from that building as possible, but I also knew I couldn't let my arm stay like this, so I stopped.

"Why are we stopping?" Addison asked.

"All of this running is making my arm bleed worse," I replied. "I have to get this piece of metal out of my arm and stop the bleeding."

I walked to a tree and sat down against it. I held my hand out, and Ghostfire began to radiate from it. I always thought burns were the worst, so I was hesitant to start. I took a deep breath, then pointed at the hole in my arm. The Ghostfire entered the hole and surrounded the metal, beginning to melt it. I clenched my teeth so I wouldn't scream and alert anyone of our presence. I leaned over and let the molten metal pour out of the wound.

I was glad that the metal was out, but I wasn't relieved at all. I still had to sear the rest of the wound. I sent the Ghostfire in the wound to begin. I clenched my teeth as the fire burned my flesh. It was only a few seconds, but it felt much longer. When it was over, I relaxed.

"Are you okay?" Addison asked.

"I'm fine," I said.

"What are we going to do? They know our general location now."

"They said something about more security at the border. I don't know what this border is, but it sounds like our best bet."

"You just said they would have more security there."

"Even so, it's our only way of getting out of here. If we don't pass the border, then we will only have a limited amount of space to hide in. We need to get past it."

"Okay, I trust you."

I stood up and held a hand out to Addison. She took it and I hoisted her up.

"How do we find this border?" She asked.

"Well if it's around us like I think it is, then we just go in any direction, and we'll eventually reach it," I replied. "Let's go."

We started running off in the same direction we were going before. I wasn't too sure about this border idea, but I also knew it was our best shot. As we ran, I looked around for those men that had chased us into the woods. I couldn't see them, but they could show up at anytime. I didn't know what those weapons they had were, but the were dangerous. I couldn't even see that metal in the air.

I was beginning to run out of breath, and I could hear Addison panting. I knew she didn't have as much energy as I did, so I stopped. She stopped as well, with no complaints.

"We should stop here," I said.

"Don't we need to get there as soon as possible?" Addison asked.

"Yes, but we need to have the energy to pass the border. Besides, it's getting dark."

I could tell she didn't want to take the chances of being found, but we needed to get some rest.

"Alright," She said. "Should I get some wood for a fire?"

"I'm sorry Addison, but a fire would make us easier to find," I said. "We'll have to go without it tonight."

She let out a sigh. "Alright."

When the sun went down completely, I cleared the grass in one area of rocks, twigs, and anything that would cause discomfort. I laid down in the freshly cleared grass and looked up at the branches of the trees. Addison came and laid down next to me.

"It's been quite an eventful day," She said.

"No kidding," I replied. "Our new lives started today."
