The alarm blared as we ran toward the door. I could hear yelling from the floors above and below us. When we reached the door, Ashley threw it open and started running down the stairs. I followed her, but I was careful not to hurt Addison. As we hurried down the stairs, we heard a door thrown open, and footsteps heading up the stairs. Ashley opened the door near us,which was labeled with a seven, and we ran inside.

I closed the door behind us, but when I looked back to the room, there were already five men pointing their guns at us. Ashley raised her arms in surrender, but I couldn't because I had to keep Addison on my back.

"Don't move!" One of the soldiers yelled.

Ashley and I complied.

"Go take their weapons," The soldier told another man.

The man began walking towards Ashley, and that's when she struck. Spiritfrost began rushing from Ashley's body, towards the soldiers. Before the men could do anything, Ashley's Spiritfrost surrounded their weapons! The men dropped their weapons, and they shattered as they hit the ground. The men looked at Ashley with fear in their eyes.

Ashley sent her Spirit frost toward the men, who looked away in fear. As they looked away, Ashley stopped her Spiritfrost and ran at the men. She grabbed her gun from her holster and struck one of the men over the head, rendering him unconscious. The other men looked at her, just as she did the same to another soldier. The other soldiers pulled out extendable batons and ran at Ashley.

Ashley unsheathed the saber at her side and prepared to fight. When the men reached her, one of them swung his baton, which she deflected with the flat of her blade. She pushed the baton up, then kicked the man back. One of the other men took a swing, but she jumped back and struck the man's head with the back of her blade. Finally, the last man jabbed at her with his baton, trying to keep a distance. Ashley evaded the blow hit the man on the head with the hilt of her sword. Ashley sheathed her sword and looked back at me, as I stared in amazement.

"Find something to hide behind," Ashley said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because the soldiers are going to look into this room and see these men. After they all enter the room, we get out of the room as quickly as we can. Now, hide."

I heard footsteps rushing up the stairs and quickly ducked behind a nearby desk, being careful not to harm Addison. I could hear the footsteps getting louder until they stopped just outside of the room. Suddenly, the door burst open, and I heard soldiers flood into the room. The desk I was behind was close to the door, so they all ran passed me. As soon as all of them entered the room, I came out from behind my hiding spot, and as quickly and quietly as I could, I proceeded to the door. They left the door open, so I wouldn't have to make noise. As soon as I reached the door, I exited and hid behind the wall, waiting for Ashley. Within seconds of leaving the room, Ashley came out of the room.

"Come on," Ashley whispered.

We quietly but quickly went down the stairs. As soon as we were a good distance from the seventh floor, we began running down the stairs again. We reached the bottom floor without anymore soldiers coming into the stairwell.

"Okay," I said. "How are we going to get passed the guards on the first floor?" I asked.

"We're not going through the door," Ashley replied. "Just melt the wall again. There shouldn't be that many guards since they found the guards we knocked out inside."

"Let's hope you're right."

I turned to the wall and began to radiate Ghostfire. I sent the Ghostfire to the wall and within seconds, it melted a hole that was large enough for both of us to fit through. Ashley and I ran outside and luckily, there were no guards in sight. We began running towards the area where we parked the car.
