I followed Ashley to the armory. When we got there, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a key. She put the key into the lock and turned it, unlocking the door. She opened the door and we walked in.
The room was filled with weapons! One wall was lined with rifles, another had shotguns, and another had smaller weapons such as, pistols, sub machine guns, and close combat weapons. The fourth wall had chest against it, holding ammo, grenades, and other supplies. Above the chests was a single saber, hanging on the wall. Any spots that didn't have guns, had vests similar to the ones The Overmasters' soldiers, only without the Overmasters' symbol.
"You have this many weapons!" I exclaimed.
"We have to if we want to be any kind of challenge for The Overmasters," Ashley replied.
Ashley walked to the wall with the rifles and took one. She went to the wall with the smaller weapons and picked out a pistol, a sub machine gun, and a knife. She went to the ammo chest and grabbed the proper ammo for her weapons.
"What are you waiting for?" She said. "Get your weapons."
I walked over to the rifles and picked one out. Next, I walked to the smaller weapons and picked out two pistols and a knife. I walked to the chests to get ammo and looked at the saber on the wall.
"Why is that saber the only sword here?" I asked.
"Because we don't have use for swords," Ashley replied.
"Then what's the point of keeping this one?"
I reached out to touch the sword, but Ashley smacked my hand away.
"Don't touch it," She said. "This sword belonged to belonged to the first leader of the Yondite rebellion, back when it was a much larger group. He was very fond of blades, especially swords. The only person allowed to touch this sword is me. Now, get your ammo so we can leave."
"Alright, fine," I said. "No need to get fussy."
I opened the ammo chest and grabbed the proper ammo for my weapons. Ashley grabbed two vests off of the wall and threw one to me.
"Put that on," She said. "It's bullet proof."
I accepted the vest and put it on. She put her vest on, then grabbed two masks from the chest. She threw one to me, and I caught it.
"What's this for?" I asked.
"If we're some how seen, we don't want them to see our faces," Ashley explained. "They know the faces in everyone in our group, but with these masks, they won't be able to tell who we are unless we use our abilities. Now, put that mask on and let's go."
I put the mask on and she put on hers. Next, she pulled a hooded jacket out of the chest.
"What's that for?" I asked.
"Me and Jericho both have to wear one when we're outside," Ashley replied. "I'm the only young girl with white hair around here, and Jericho's hair is blood red unlike most people, so we hide our hair."
Ashley put the jacket on over her vest, and we left the armory. She locked the door behind us and we took off. On our way out, Ashley turned to everyone in the lounge.
"While we're gone, I'm leaving Jericho in charge," She announced.
She turned back to the exit, and we left. We climbed up the stairs until we reached the secret door. Ashley pulled a switch to her right and the door opened. We stepped outside and within seconds, the door closed behind us.
"The door closes automatically?" I said.
"When the door is opened, it closes ten seconds later," Ashley explained. "Now, let's get going."
