Miss Kim greeted her little students as they entered the classroom, a giant smile on her face to brighten the children's day as much as she could. Each student skipped into the classroom, big childish grins on their faces except for little Min SJ. He was looked down, walking sluggishly. He barely mumbled a hello when his friend Bora greeted him. SJ was like the sun hiding between clouds, shy, but when he beats his shyness he brightens your day. Worried, Miss Kim kneeled down and stopped him.
"What's wrong, sweetie?" She asked sweetly, voice like sweet honey. She rested a hand on his shoulder, smiling sadly at him.
SJ met her eye for a moment before looking down again. "Nothing's wrong, Miss Kim. I'm okay." He didn't want to share his sadness with Miss Kim, it was too personal to share with someone who barely knew him and was just simply a teacher. Plus he was a little embarrassed, most if not all of the other kids (not including Jaemin) had parents that were married and happy and not broken up. Jaemin's mom died when she gave birth to him so it was just his dad and him.
Miss Kim let SJ go but stopped Jaemin when he came by. "Yes, Miss Kim?" He asked with a shit eating grin. He had just played a prank of his dad and he was still proud of it. He couldn't wait to tell SJ but when he snuck a look at his best friend, he saw the aura of sadness surrounding him. "Miss Kim is something wrong with SJ?" He asked, his grin melting into a frown.
Miss Kim gently touched Jaemin's head, running her hands through it to calm him down. "I don't know. I was wondering if you could ask SJ what's wrong and if it's something very bad, if you could tell me," she cooed, looking at the young boy to make sure he understood.
Jaemin nodded his head, determined to make his best friend better and find out what wrong. "Yes, Miss Kim," he answered. Jaemin hobbled away from Miss Kim and ran to his table, greeting Bora and giving SJ a hug. SJ hugged him back, sniffling quietly. "What's wrong, SJ?" Jaemin asked with whole hearted concern. He made sure not to let to of SJ in case he needed the support.
"My Umma and Appa fought really bad. Now Umma and Appa aren't together anymore, they broke up." SJ hugged Jaemin more tightly, crying onto his best friend's shoulder. Jaemin pressed his forehead onto the top of Jaemin head and hugged SJ. He held SJ until the younger boy was just sniffling. He let go a moment after Jaemin kissed the top of his head, slightly blushing at the fact that Jaemin kissed him.
Jaemin took SJ's little hand and smiled his adorable two missing front teeth smile. "If you're still sad then squeeze my hand and I'll give you another hug to make you feel better!" SJ gave Jaemin a small smile, thankful for his best friend. They sat back down and Bora surprised SJ when she tackled him into a hug, wishing him to feel better.
