The Party Pilipinas rehearsals were starting when Julie and Elmo got there. When their friends saw them, they all applauded and started shouting, “Mabuhay ang bagong couple!” They both laughed and ran towards their friends and gave them hugs. Elmo ran towards Jhake, Derek, Kris, and Sef. They all congratulated him on his new girlfriend and welcomed him back. On the other hand, Julie ran towards Yassi and Mayton.
“OMG, girl! Congratulations on your very first boyfriend! Si Elmo pa talaga ha?”
Julie blushed and playfully hit Yassi’s arm. “Ouch naman, friend. Bakit? May sinabi ba ako? Pero friend ha, ang tagal-tagal niyo nang magkaibigan, ngayon lang talga naging magka-ibigan ha? You guys waited like four years?” Yassi continued.
“It’s worth the wait. He’s worth the wait.” Julie said.
“Talaga?” Elmo cut in hugging Julie from behind. Julie jumped a little but she relaxed when she heard his voice. Elmo rested his head on her shoulder and Julie touched his face with one hand and placed her other hand on Elmo’s hands which were intertwined on her abdomen. “Ano ba ‘yan… Kakilig naman!!!” Mayton said.
“Hoy, Elmo! Alagaan mo yung best friend namin ha!” Yassi commanded.
“Yes, ma’am. I will take very good care of her. Mahal ko eh.” Elmo said as he kissed Julie’s cheek. She blushed. The rehearsals were still on-going.
Ashton, Layla, to the stage na.
It wasn’t long when Ashton and Layla walked on-stage. Just as they got to center stage, Layla recognized Elmo and Ashton recognized Julie.
“Elmo!” Layla called as she ran towards him and gave him a hug.
“Julie!” Ashton shouted as he ran to her.
Elmo and Julie had already let go of each other and they were both surprised with the sudden embraces.
“I can’t believe you’re back, Moe. I missed you!”
“Na miss din kita, Layla.”
“Ba’t ba ang tagal mong umuwi?”
“I don’t really have a reason for that. I just really wanted to rest.” Elmo smiled. His eyes directed towards Julie who was talking to Ashton. Layla noticed this and she couldn’t help but ask him. “What’s this I’ve been hearing na kayo na ni Julie? Maxx told me pero I wanted to hear it from you.”
“Layla…”
“Is it true?”
“Yes. Julie’s my girlfriend.”
“Pero Elmo, before you left, I thought we had something.”
“I thought so too. I wasn’t lying when I said I liked you. But Layla, I don’t only like Julie, I love her.”
“I can’t believe this. I waited so long for you!” Layla said, her voice rising. Before they could make a scene, Elmo pulled Layla outside. Julie on the other hand was busy trying to converse with Ashton without making it awkward.
“So how was your trip?”
“Okay naman. How’ve you been?”
“Good. Even better now that I see you.”
“Ashton, alam mo naman na-“
“Kayo na ni Elmo? Yeah, I know all about that. Heard it on the news and from everyone backstage.”
“Ashton, I’m sorry.”
“Niligawan kita ng ilang buwan, pero hindi mo ako sinasagot kasi si Elmo pala yung gusto mo.”
“It’s not like that, Ashton. If you didn’t have a chance with me, I wouldn’t have let you start courting me in the first place.”
“Then why did you choose him?”
“I couldn’t stop my heart from choosing him. Siya talaga eh.”
Elmo closed the door behind him and waited for Layla to calm down. When she did, she approached him and held his hands. “Elmo, what do I have to do to get you back? Mahal kita.”
“Mahal naman kita eh. I love you as a friend. Pero that’s it.”
“I can’t let you go.”
“Layla…”
“No, I won’t let you go.”
“Layla, you don’t have a choice but to let me go. I can’t be with you, because I want to be with her. That’s the bottom line. I’m sorry.” Elmo said to her as he pulled his hands away from her grasp. He went back inside and bumped into Julie who looked stressed. Elmo ran his hand through her hair and held her hand.
“Baby, okay ka lang?” He asked.
“Baby, ba’t ba ganito? Ba’t parang ang dami nating nasasaktan?”
“Hindi ko alam. Hindi naman natin sinasadya na may masaktan eh.”
“What are we gonna do?”
“I don’t know. I just don’t know, Julie.”
