BRENNE'S POV
It was 5:30am.I was sitting on the front steps of Uncle Ricky's house, waiting for everyone else to arrive. I had been sitting there since 4:00am, my insomnia becoming more of a curse then a blessing.
I had packed last night, only bringing my backpack and whatever I could fit in it. Three shirts, two pairs of shorts, two pairs of jeans, a skirt, and a backup pair of shoes.
I had headphones in my ears, playing every song I had on shuffle.
Me eyes kept scanning the sidewalk, looking for anyone of my fellow road trippers to show up.
Finally a group of people came walking up to me. Jet, Camille, Hailey, and Jasmine all came and sat down next to me. Each girl carried a backpack like me.
"Hey Brenne, aren't you excited!", Jet asked me excitedly.
I looked over at her.
"Is this your first road trip?", I asked.
She looked me with a surprised look on her face. "How did you know?!", she asked me.
I grinned. "Lucky guess."
"Any sign of Echo or Peyton?", Camille asked.
"No, and I'm starting to get worried", I replied. I looked down at my watch. 5:50am. They had ten minutes to get here. Unless Uncle Ricky was late, which was usually the case.
I looked back at the sidewalk and a pool of relief swept over me.
Echo was walking down the sidewalk, followed by a limping Peyton. They both had backpacks as well. When Echo saw us, she ran up to us and giggled.
"What is it?", Hailey asked.
Echo continued to giggle. "Ask him." She pointed towards Peyton, who was still limping down the sidewalk.
PEYTON'S POV
"Peyton, what happened to you?", Jasmine asked me.
I slowly made my way towards the front porch, grimacing with every step I took.
"I got kicked in the butt like, 98 times yesterday for no reason!", I explained.
The girls tried to hold their laughter, but they couldn't help themselves. They started rolling over each other, giggling like maniacs.
I sat down next to them and waited for them to stop. When they did, I looked at Brenne's watch.
"It's 5:58am guys", I start. "Shouldn't Uncle Ricky be ready by now?"
As if on cue, the front door to Uncle Ricky's house swung open, revealing not only Uncle Ricky, but three others. Three other girls.
Uncle Ricky stepped forward.
"Kids", he starts. "These are my nieces. My blood related nieces, unlike the seven of you."
"Hey!", I yell.
"Anyways", Uncle Ricky continued. "My sister had to go to New York for who knows what, so I'm watching them. Which means they'll have to accompany us on this car trip. So allow me to introduce Yippers, Arianne, and Serene Gatin."
