Luke's POV

It's not the sound of my alarm that wakes me up this morning. It was the sound of screaming. Nothing new to me. With a sigh, I trudge my way down the small hallway of my foster home. It's not very big, it's really small actually. There's about a dozen other kids here, and we all have to cramp together in a small room. Except for me. When I first got here, I had to share, but soon after people got to know me, they realized that I'm probably not the best person to bunk with.

The only people I bunk with occasionally are Michael, Ashton, and Calum. They've been my best mates ever since I can remember. Ever since the awful incident that landed me here, they've been for me through it all. Same goes for them. I've always been there for them too. Whatever they need. Whatever their going through, I'll always be here for them.

"Hey, Hey! Stop it! Pull him off!" Aaron screams, gesturing towards the small guy in the large guy's hands. Jeff was the large guy's name. He's always looking for trouble, even when nobody else is looking for it.

I lean up against the doorframe to the lounge, watching Aaron freak out about this. I do nothing to help. It wasn't my boys who were getting into trouble, and it wasn't me, so I could care less. "Aren't you gonna do something?" He calls. I don't answer although I know he's talking to me. "Hey! I'm talking to you." Aaron walks up to me, waving his hands in my face.

My reflexes kick in and I instantly grab his wrists. "Put your hands in my face one more time, I'll fucking break them." I hiss. Aaron's eyes go wide and he jerks back.

Scrunching his eyebrows together he says, "You'll pay for this later." Then he huffs and walks away, trying helplessly to stop the fight that still proceeded.

I roll my eyes walking away. I wasn't scared about 'paying for it later'. All that meant was that he was going to tell on me for threating him. So most likely I'll be grounded for how ever long my foster parents wanted to ground me. That never works though, and they don't really care either. They only do it because they have to. Hell they don't even stay in the same house as us. Our foster parents do this thing where they put one responsible person in charge, in this case Aaron, and that person is supposed to let them know if disciplinary actions need to take place. Aaron was all in his head about this. He thinks he's untouchable because he's in charge of this place. Whatever.

It was only 5 in the morning, and I didn't need to be awake until 6, which was for school. I make my way into my room, stepping over my sleeping friends on the floor. I take off my shirt, revealing my tattoos that covered my full chest, walking towards the bathroom to take a shower. I stand under the hot water, letting it run down my hair, making it flat.

"Everyone up!" I recognize the voice of my foster mother, Lisa. She was frankly a very rude person. Well to me at least.

I turn off the water, and dry myself off, putting on new clothes, and head out the door. Michael is laying on the floor with his hands over his eyes, being blinded by the lights, while Calum and Ashton groan, but get up nevertheless. "Why the fuck are you up so early?" Ashton groans.

"A fight." I simply answer.

"You got in a fight?" Cal ponders.

"No, but I watched one. It woke me up."

"Luke!" Lisa harshly yells for me.

"What?"

"Your ass is mine after school." She spats, having known about me threating Aaron. I didn't feel remorse though, he shouldn't have shoved his hands in my face.

"Whatever." I reply, grabbing my shoes and heading out early for school.

"What was up Lisa's ass this morning?" Michael asks as we walk through the school hallways.

"Nothing, I just threated Aaron that I would break his hands if he didn't get them out of my face, and of course he told. Nothing new." I shrug.

As were walking, Calum responds to my comment, but I don't listen. The most beautiful thing catches my eye. So beautiful if took my breath away, making my stomach churn with fear. My face cringed at her beauty, almost like it hurt to look at her. She was standing with a girl by her locker, someone I've noticed around here . Violet was her name. She had brown hair with colors at the end of it.

"Luke, did you hear me?" Ashton sighs, still grumpy from waking up.

"Wh-no." I shake my head.

"I asked if we were still going to that party Friday."

"Oh yeah I guess." Then I laugh. "That's if Lisa-" I mock her voice. "-Doesn't have my ass." This makes the rest of the boys laugh. I grin widely, feeling accomplished that they were laughing at something I did.

Only I kept smiling afterwards thinking about how beautiful that girl was, but I stop when I realize that she made me smile. I didn't know her and she was making me smile? I've got to avoid her at all costs.
