Luke's POV

"How will we tell them?" Madison asks me whilst laying on my chest in her bed.

"They'll find out soon enough." I reply, running my hands through her hair. I didn't really care if they found out. I don't answer to anyone. They answer to me.

"What are we?" She then asks, raising up a little to look at me. "Am I your girl-"

"No." I answer quickly, cutting her off. "I mean we-I-I don't know." I sigh, raising all the way up to sit on the edge of the bed.

"It's okay. We can take things slow. Maybe we can get to know each other more."

"I don't see why you would want to get to know me." I lightly laugh.

"Why's that?" Madison says, wrapping her arms around my torso; her touch was something I wasn't used to.

"I don't know. I think maybe I should go." I nod and stand up from my place.

"You don't-"

"Yeah but I want to, Madison." I raise my voice at her unexpectedly all the sudden feeling guilty. "Tell Michael to go home when he wakes up." I tell her in a lower tone, and gather my shoes and walk out her front door.

Back at home, Lisa has the place on lock down trying to find me. Turns out Aaron wasn't the best person for the job. "Where on earth have you been?" She scolds me when I walk through the door.

"None of your business." I shrug, looking at her blankly.

"Everything is my business when it comes to you children!"

"Your not my mother! You have no control whatsoever over me!" I yell at her.

"I know that if your mother was alive, she wouldn't want you to be like this. Nor your father."
Lisa speaks in a calmer tone, knowing that she'd pissed me off.

"You don't know shit." I huff and push past her, purposefully hitting her shoulder on the way out. She doesn't know how anything would be if my parents where alive. She doesn't know even know them like I did. No one knows anything about the way my life was, so it's not fair that people always continue to judge and make assumption over complete nothingness.

"Hey, mate where'd you go last night?" Ashton wonders as I come through the door to our bedroom.

" Madison's." I sigh and lay back on the bed.

"So you guys are on talking terms now?" He smiles.

"I don't know." I groan, and run my hands over my face. "That's all I keep saying here lately. I don't know. I don't know how I'm feeling. I don't know what I want. I don't know anything that's going on anymore and it's so frustrating. My life has been so much more fucked up since Madison came along, and I don't know if that's a good thing or not."

"Well seeing as you never open up about your feelings, I'm going to say that she good for you. You need to let her in and save you." Ash chuckles.

"But I'm not supposed to let anyone save me. I'm supposed to save everyone else."

"Looks like the roles are reversed." He shrugs.

"Look man, I know you don't like talking about it, but your parents wouldn't want you to be doing this to yourself. It's not your fault that you couldn't-"

"Please stop." I hold my hand up as if my hand could cut through the words that were about to float my way. I clench my jaw and stand up from the bed, opening the window like I do ever time I leave this place.

"Where are you off to now?"

"I don't know."

___

My feet took me to their old house. It was now useless decay of debris that used to be a home. A big pile of ash. My life took place here before everything, and I wish with all I have that I could just go back. Just one last time, just to make things right. The workers who helped put the fire out never came back to clean up the aftermath, but I don't want them to come back. I'm pretty sure they've seen me come here countless of times and that's why they don't take it away. This is the last piece of sanity I have to hold on to. These ashes are the last piece of my humanity and I'm already a lost cause.

I sit down on the concrete steps that are the only pieces of the house that survived, and look out upon the neighborhood that I grew up in. All the nice houses with happy families that celebrate the holidays with love a joy and gifts and the big families who fight and complain, but by the end of the night, they all love one another and make up. That will be something I will never have again. I have nobody to spend the holidays with, nobody to fight with simply because I love them so much, it annoys us. My brothers and I were like that at one point, but I haven't seen them in years.

The rush hour traffic starts to settle in for the day with people coming home from work or whatever, so I stand up and begin my journey back to the place I have to call home. I take one last look at my broken home and erase all the memories for the night, until I have to come back a face them all over again.

I walk past the park that I used to play at and glance at all the kids who seem to be having fun with their parents, and the parents giving me looks of disgrace probably wondering why a tattooed freak is walking around a park; little did they know I was just walking past it. I look away and start paying attention of what's ahead of me, only to be looking at the back of Madison's head.

I quicken my pace, and catch up with her. She was walking behind Violet and Michael as they seemed to be third-wheeling her. "Madison?"

"Luke!" Her beautiful brown eyes instantly light up, something that I could get used to. "What are you doing here?"

"I was just uh-uh clearing my mind." I explain, which wasn't exactly a full lie. Michael gives me a look that tells me that he knew where I actually went.

"Well you can come over to my house. Mom and Dad were about to fix us lunch." She offers. "Well that's if you want to." Madison adds, referring to this morning.

The guilt trip taking over me, I say, "Fine."

"Yay!" She giggles, linking her arm though mine. Her giggle was like music to my ears and it made me smirk.

__

"Mom, Dad, Parker!" Madison screams though her house when we arrive.

"In here!" Her mom, I assume, calls.

"Guys I'd like you to meet my uh..my friend, Luke." She says gesturing to me.

Her mom's eyes slightly go wide and she tries to hide her astonishment. Her dad raises an eyebrow, and 'Parker' crosses his arms approaching me with judgment in his eyes. "Luke huh?"
