Chapter six: Revenge is bitter and sweet

“Aren’t you worried?” Wendy asked as we walked down the halls, the same thing she asked me every morning since I threw a drink over Isabelle’s head.

“You should be” Micah contributed, Wendy hit his arm

“Be helpful, not truthful” she snapped at him.

“I’ve been waiting a week, and you’ve had the same conversation every day. Isabelle isn’t going to do anything, she’s too worried about her nose” I answered, I looked over at Victoria for backup she smiled.

“It’s true” Victoria said “If Isabelle was going to do anything, she’d have done it by now” Victoria said as she fixed her makeup in her locker mirror which was right next to mine.

It was weird to think I’d only been here a week, made enemies with the ice queen, made friends with the geeks and an ex-princess and got a hunk of a boyfriend. The only thing that is annoying me in life is the questions I have about the tattoo which I have managed to keep hidden quiet well, Beck hasn’t noticed yet at least, or Jessie.

But one person keeps playing on my mind, Phoenix, he hadn’t been seen in a while, I hadn’t been asking but Wendy kept mentioning it. I couldn’t help but be interested when talk of him came up, he was a mystery and I’m curious by nature.

In classes with Wendy she’d point out where Phoenix should be sitting, I would stare at that seat all lesson but he’d never show. All week he hadn’t been there, he hadn’t pulled the chair out and sat, neither had his siblings.

“Hey what's this?” Victoria said pulling out a piece of newspaper from her locker, she unravelled it.

“What is it?” Wendy said curious as she went behind Victoria to read over her shoulder, she adjusted her new glasses that were still too big for her face. I watched as their eyes scanned it for a moment, Micah going over to read it as well.

“What is it?” I asked they all just looked up at me.

“Nothing” Victoria said folding it, before she could do anything else I yanked it out of her hand.

“Why won't you let me see it” I said as I opened up the newspaper.

“Sam you shouldn’t read that” Wendy said quickly, but it was too late, as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what it was, I already had once from years ago it was in my room, in the 3rd draw down stuffed at the very back in an old diary.

“I guess you spoke to soon about Isabelle” Micah said, but this time it was Victoria and Wendy who punched him on either arm.

I crumbled it up in my hands, I yanked open my own locker to find an identical piece of paper, I looked around the halls to see multiple people pulling out the same piece of paper from their lockers, all reading and discussing it with others, their eyes finding me with the same expression.

I could feel it, the sympathy, the sadness and pity, it almost knocked me over. I closed my eyes to hide the tears that threatened to fall, I looked down into my locker and grabbed the piece of paper and did the same thing I did to Victoria’s.

“She’s gone too far” Victoria said putting her hand on my shoulder, I laughed.

“Don’t worry I'm going to do far worse to her face” I said through gritted teeth, I slammed my locker shut and everyone made a path for me to go through

“Sam!” Wendy shouted “Don’t do anything rash, think about it please” she creamed after me, I continued to walk though, I had thought about it. People saw me in the hallway and had only seconds to move. I was pissed off.
