It was almost 1am and I'd been texting Michael for over 3 hours, sitting at my desk, peeking out of the window across the street.
MIKEY: Tana Banana are you okay? You seem distracted?
TANA: Oh no Mikey I'm fine, it's just, someone's moving in across the street and I'm being nosey!
MIKEY: Figures.
TANA: Hey Mikey I'm gonna take a bath so I'll talk to you after xoxo
MIKEY: See ya Tana Xoxo
I put my phone on charge and closed my window, taking one last look for now. They were just unpacking furniture by the looks of it? My Mom was shopping, my Dad was at work and Ashton was probably out getting a drink with one of many of his adoring girlfriends. One of many. I started running my bath and getting undressed. When my bath was run, I hopped in quickly, letting my body disappear into the soapy water, the bubbles clinging on to my skin. Once I was full bathed, dressed and ready to climb into bed and... continue to talk to Mikey and Calum until 5am as per usual. I change into a baggy 'Nirvana' hoodie and grey shorts before wiping off all remaining makeup and tying back my medium length blonde hair into a messy bun. Humming along to the 'Artic Monkeys' CD playing loudly in my room, I grabbed my phone and got ready to climb into bed before being rudely interrupted by a knock at the door. I always got nervous when someone knocked this late when I was home alone, but I was pretty sure it was Ashton, lost his key again I expect. I toss my phone down lightly on my bed and roll my eyes, jogging to the door, swinging it open.
"Look, Ashton, you've got a key god dammit man. What have you done with this one? Went wolverine style on your girl from the county slut centre? Like seriou-" I paused and looked at the person standing at the door."Aw shit you're not Ashton. My bad." My eyes widen. The boy at the door looked easily my age or a couple years older. He had perfectly styled blonde hair tucked back into his big grey beanie hanging off the back of his head. His blue eyes were piercing and made the ocean on a sweet summer's day seem like the foggiest of evenings. His perfectly shaped lips ( and by perfectly shaped I mean perfectly shaped for me to kiss them right there right then. If I wasn't with Calum of course. ) were formed into that of a small smirk as if he was thoroughly amused with my rather embarrassing mistake. I also noticed on the left corner of his mouth, was a cheeky black lip ring which he had now taken quite fondly to biting as he eyed my horrified expression. He was wearing a black 'All Time Low' shirt and black ripped skinny jeans, all black converse and a red and black flannel standing awkwardly in the doorway of my household. After all of these key points were noted, I took in what had just happened.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I thought you were my brother!" I covered my face. I heard the boy's soft chuckle from behind my shelter of hands.
"It's fine, I shouldn't have come this late at night. I hope you weren't sleeping?" His eyes widened quickly, I removed my hands from my face.
"No I wasn't sleeping, it's okay... If you don't mind me asking, why exactly are you here?" I had also now taken to biting my lip also.
"My family and I, we just moved here." He nodded across to the other side of the street, looking over his shoulder, which was very difficult since he was very easily at least 6ft tall, spotting again the removal lorry.
"I'm Luke. Luke Hemmings. I just wanted to say hey to a couple of people around here, I saw you were awake" he explained. Aw crap he's a creep.
"I mean, your lights were on so I figured you might be anyway?" He quickly rushed to his words own rescue. I sighed in relief, okay maybe not a creep.
"So I came over to say hi, I hope you don't mind." Luke kicked at the floor with the toe of his converse awkwardly. I smiled at his shyness, it was kinda cute.
"I don't mind at all! My name's Tana, Tana Irwin. It's great to meet you.. 'Luke'." I spoke the word gently as if not to hurt it. This boy was fragile, I felt as if the littlest thing would break him. He smiled, sensing the softness in my tone at his name.
"So, Tana, do you go to Garnwood High School?" Luke looked hopeful.
"Yup! It's not a bad school... If you fit in with a good crowd." I reply.
"I see! I'm going to Garnwood in a week or so time. I'm honestly.. surprisingly nervous." Luke chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. I smiled fondly at him.
"I'm sure you can hang out with us! You'll do fine! I'd invite you in to sit down and talk some more, but my brother will probably be home soon, and if not him, my parents." I sighed. Luke suddenly started backing up,
"Ah, okay, it's fine! See ya Tana!" Luke and I exchanged smiles before he ran across the road to his house. Turning inside with a smile, the clock glared at me with a large '3am' on its face.As I got ready for bed, I looked out my window and saw Luke in his own. He looked over at me too and we smiled at each other. I waved Luke a goodbye and he did the same, before I closed my window and the curtains too and hopped into bed. I don't think I'd be texting Mikey much tonight.
